Mercedes-Benz Group closed 2025 with solid momentum, delivering 2.16 million cars and vans worldwide, supported by growing demand for electrified vehicles and a rapidly expanding electric portfolio.
The fourth quarter proved especially strong, with 558,400 vehicles sold, making it the company’s best quarter of the year and underscoring increasing customer confidence in Mercedes-Benz’s electrification strategy.
A key highlight of 2025 was the sharp rise in battery electric vehicle order intake, driven primarily by the launch of the all-new electric CLA and electric GLC, as well as a growing lineup of electric vans. These models are helping redefine Mercedes-Benz’s position in the premium EV market.
A Landmark Year for Electric Innovation
“In 2025 we kicked off the biggest product and technology launch program in Mercedes-Benz history,” said Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG. “With cutting-edge electric-drive systems and intelligent software, the all-new CLA demonstrates the depth of quality and innovation in our products. And the best is yet to come as we continue our launch program in 2026.”
Mercedes-Benz Cars delivered 459,400 vehicles in Q4, with sales rising across all regions compared to the previous quarter. Full-year sales reached 1.8 million units, supported by strong performance in Europe and significant growth in South America and the Gulf States. Despite a challenging and highly competitive environment—particularly in China and the U.S.—Mercedes-Benz maintained its focus on long-term value, premium technology, and electrification.
Electrification continues to play a central role in Mercedes-Benz’s global strategy. Fourth-quarter BEV sales rose 3% year-on-year and 18% compared to Q3, largely fueled by the success of the electric CLA. Plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sales increased by 9% in 2025, bringing total global electrified vehicle (xEV) sales to 368,600 units.
Europe led the charge, with Mercedes-Benz achieving its highest-ever xEV sales, resulting in a 40% electrified share of total deliveries. Several markets—including France, Denmark, India, and Australia—recorded record-breaking BEV sales, highlighting growing consumer acceptance of electric mobility.
The electric CLA has emerged as a standout success. Recognized as the best vehicle ever tested by Auto Motor und Sport and crowned European Car of the Year 2026, demand has surged, with order books filling rapidly. This success is now extending across the portfolio, including the CLA Shooting Brake, the all-new electric GLB, and additional highly efficient electrified CLA variants.
Meanwhile, the all-new electric GLC, which premiered at IAA Munich, has seen exceptional demand, with order books already filled well into the second half of 2026.
Performance, Luxury, and Electrification Converge
Electrification is also reshaping Mercedes-Benz’s high-performance and luxury segments. Mercedes-AMG delivered 145,000 vehicles in 2025, marking one of its most successful years ever. The upcoming AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, based on the high-performance AMG.EA electric architecture, signals a new era of electric performance set to debut in 2026. The CONCEPT AMG GT XX already demonstrated the platform’s potential by setting 25 performance records in 2025.
The iconic G-Class also reached a milestone year, achieving best-ever sales of 49,700 units. The electric G-Class played a significant role in expanding the model’s customer base, proving that electrification can coexist with legendary off-road capability.
Mercedes-Benz Vans: Electrification Gains Speed
Mercedes-Benz Vans also saw strong momentum in electrification. eVan sales surged by 46% in 2025, lifting the global electric share to 8%, and 11% in Europe. This growth reflects the full availability of the electric van lineup and strong alignment with customer needs.
Looking ahead, Mercedes-Benz Vans is preparing to redefine the segment once again. In March, the company will unveil the all-electric VLE, built on a new modular and highly flexible electric van architecture, marking a major step forward in both private and commercial electric mobility.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As Mercedes-Benz enters 2026, the company continues the largest product and technology rollout in its history. Upcoming launches include the electric C-Class, new electric GLA, the electric GLC, the CLA Shooting Brake, and the first production model on the AMG electric architecture. All new vehicles will be powered by the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), delivering seamless digital experiences, enhanced comfort, and a true “Welcome Home” feeling.
