The 2027 Kia EV3 is finally arriving in the U.S., bringing a compact electric SUV with an affordable starting price, up to 321 miles of EPA-estimated range, available all-wheel drive, and a standard NACS charging port.
Originally launched in overseas markets in 2024, the EV3 quickly established itself as one of Kia’s most important electric vehicles. Its U.S. arrival gives shoppers another compelling option in the growing affordable EV segment, competing with models such as the Chevrolet Bolt and Nissan Leaf.
Kia’s U.S. website currently describes the EV3 as an all-new 2027 model and highlights an estimated 320 miles of range, available dual-motor AWD, native NACS charging and V2L capability.
2027 Kia EV3 Price and Trim Levels
The 2027 Kia EV3 starts at $29,890 before destination charges for the entry-level Light FWD model. Including the $1,495 destination charge cited in Kia’s U.S. pricing information, the effective starting price is $31,385.
That makes the EV3 Kia’s most affordable electric vehicle in the U.S. market and puts it well below the EV6.

AWD adds approximately $3,200 on trims where it is available.
Up to 321 Miles of EPA Range
Range is one of the EV3’s biggest selling points.
The entry-level EV3 Light FWD uses a 58.3-kWh battery and has an EPA-estimated 221 miles of range.
Models equipped with the larger 81.4-kWh battery offer substantially more range:
– FWD: up to 321 miles
– AWD: up to 280 miles
Kia currently advertises approximately 320 miles of estimated range for the Wind FWD, while the higher 321-mile figure reflects the EPA estimate provided for the long-range FWD configuration.
That makes the long-range EV3 particularly interesting for buyers who want an affordable electric crossover without sacrificing road-trip capability.
201-HP FWD, Up to 288 HP in the EV3 GT
The front-wheel-drive EV3 produces 201 horsepower and 209 lb-ft of torque from a single electric motor.
Adding AWD brings a dual-motor setup producing 261 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque.
At the top of the range, the EV3 GT increases output to 288 horsepower and 345 lb-ft of torque.
The GT also adds software-enabled virtual gear shifts and active sound features designed to provide a more engaging driving experience, similar in concept to the technology used in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.
The combination of compact dimensions, relatively low weight and nearly 300 horsepower could make the EV3 GT one of the more interesting performance-oriented affordable EVs in its class.
Fast Charging and Built-In NACS
The EV3 comes with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port built into the vehicle.
That means U.S. buyers can access compatible Tesla Supercharger locations without needing a separate adapter, expanding the number of public charging options available to EV3 owners. Kia also highlights Plug and Charge capability on the U.S.-market EV3.
For DC fast charging, Kia says the 58.3-kWh battery can charge from 10% to 80% in about 29 minutes under suitable conditions.
The larger battery takes approximately 31 minutes for the same 10%-to-80% charging session.
On an 11-kW Level 2 charger, the smaller battery requires roughly five hours for a 10%-to-80% charge, while the larger pack takes around seven hours.
Kia’s charging estimates can vary depending on battery temperature, charger output, weather and other conditions.
V2L Turns the EV3 Into a Portable Power Source
Another useful feature is vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability.
V2L allows the EV3’s battery to supply electricity to compatible external equipment, making it possible to power devices such as laptops, camping equipment and other appliances.
For EV owners, this can make the EV3 more than just a transportation device. It can also serve as a portable power source during camping trips, outdoor activities or power interruptions.
A High-Tech Interior
The EV3 adopts Kia’s latest interior design language, centered around the company’s ccNC connected car Navigation Cockpit.
The dashboard incorporates nearly 30 inches of combined digital display space, including:
– 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
– 12.3-inch infotainment display
– 5-inch climate-control display
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
