BYD ATTO 3 EVO Debuts with 800V Charging and Up to 317 Miles of Range

BYD is turning up the heat in the electric family SUV segment. The new BYD ATTO 3 EVO arrives as a major evolution of the model that introduced many of European drivers to the Chinese EV giant — and this time, the upgrades are impossible to ignore.

With rear- or all-wheel drive, a larger 74.8 kWh battery, 800V fast-charging, and performance figures that rival premium EVs, the ATTO 3 EVO is no longer just a value contender. It’s a serious benchmark for the class.

A Big Leap Forward on BYD’s Latest EV Platform

The ATTO 3 EVO is built on the latest version of BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, unlocking significant gains in efficiency, dynamics, and performance. For the first time, buyers can choose between rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) — a notable shift from the front-wheel-drive-only setup of the outgoing model.

The platform also introduces a five-link rear suspension, replacing the previous four-link design, delivering better ride comfort and sharper handling — a key improvement for European roads.

Two Powertrains, One Big Battery

BYD has simplified the lineup with a single 74.8 kWh Blade Battery across both versions, paired with an advanced 800V electrical architecture. The result? DC fast charging at up to 220 kW, enabling a 10–80% charge in just 25 minutes.

BYD ATTO 3 EVO RWD

– Power: 313 PS (230 kW)
– Torque: 380 Nm
– 0–62 mph: 5.5 seconds
– WLTP range: 317 miles

BYD ATTO 3 EVO AWD

– Combined output: 449 PS (330 kW)
– Torque: 560 Nm
– 0–100 km/h: 3.9 seconds
– WLTP range: 292 miles

That acceleration figure puts the AWD version in a league of its own among electric family SUVs.

Both models also support 1500 kg braked towing and include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing the car to power external devices at up to 3 kW.

Blade Battery with Cell-to-Body Technology

At the heart of the ATTO 3 EVO is BYD’s proven Blade Battery, using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry for enhanced durability and safety. The battery is integrated using Cell-to-Body (CTB) construction, where the battery becomes part of the vehicle’s structure.

This design improves torsional rigidity, crash safety, and interior packaging — and helps explain how BYD managed to increase practicality without changing exterior dimensions.

Same Size, Much More Practical

While the ATTO 3 EVO retains the same footprint as before, smarter packaging delivers real-world gains:

– Boot space increased to 490 litres
– 1,360 litres with rear seats folded
– New 101-litre front trunk (frunk) for cables or shopping

Subtle exterior updates include revised bumpers, new 18-inch alloy wheels, slimmer side skirts, and a sportier rear spoiler.

Inside, the cabin feels noticeably airier thanks to a column-mounted gear selector, freeing up space in the centre console. A redesigned 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, higher-quality materials, and new comfort features elevate the overall experience.

Class-Leading Infotainment and Smart Tech

Technology remains a core strength of the ATTO 3 — and the EVO pushes it further.

Dominating the dashboard is a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, the largest in the segment, running BYD’s latest infotainment system with built-in Google services, including: Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play Store (car-optimised apps).

An AI-enhanced voice assistant, powered by a cloud-based large language model, allows natural speech commands for navigation, climate, and media.

Other highlights include:

– NFC phone and wearable access
– Wireless smartphone charging with active cooling
– Ambient interior lighting
– Heat pump for improved cold-weather efficiency
– Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) for outdoor and home use

Zero Compromise on Safety

Safety has been upgraded alongside performance. Thanks to CTB construction and a comprehensive ADAS suite, the ATTO 3 EVO comes fully loaded with:

– Seven airbags, including a front centre airbag
– Adaptive and Intelligent Cruise Control
– Blind Spot Detection
– Front and Rear Cross Traffic Alert
– Lane Departure Assist
– Traffic Sign Recognition
– Intelligent Speed Limit Control
– Front and Rear Collision Warning

Pricing, Availability and Warranty

The BYD ATTO 3 EVO is available to order now, with first deliveries expected in spring. It comes with BYD’s comprehensive after-sales support, including a six-year manufacturer’s warranty for the vehicle and eight years or 155,350 miles of cover for the battery with a guaranteed State of Health (SOH) of at least 70%.
