Leapmotor has surpassed a major milestone in its European expansion, with the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer now operating more than 1,000 retail locations across Europe.
As of September 2026, Leapmotor’s European retail network has grown to 1,020 locations, giving the brand coverage of around 80% of the region. The rapid expansion is being driven by the company’s partnership with Stellantis through the Leapmotor International joint venture.
The partnership has allowed Leapmotor to combine its electric vehicle technology with Stellantis’ established European retail, service and aftersales infrastructure. This has enabled the EV maker to expand its presence significantly faster while giving customers easier access to its growing vehicle lineup.
Leapmotor’s retail network now extends across 36 European countries, from Iceland in the west to Bulgaria in the east, as well as Malta.
The latest additions include new locations in Norway and the Balkans, with further expansion expected before the end of 2026.
The growing network is becoming an increasingly important part of Leapmotor’s European strategy. Beyond simply providing locations where customers can purchase its vehicles, the network gives owners access to servicing, aftersales support and other services throughout the ownership experience.
Leapmotor says customers are now, on average, just 22 minutes away from one of its retailers. The company sees this proximity as an important advantage as it seeks to build consumer confidence and establish longer-term relationships with European EV buyers.
The scale of Leapmotor’s European rollout would be difficult to achieve without the infrastructure provided through its partnership with Stellantis.
The Leapmotor International joint venture gives the EV manufacturer access to Stellantis’ extensive network and experience in European markets. At the same time, Leapmotor contributes its electric vehicle technology and expanding portfolio of models.
This combination has allowed the brand to establish a substantial retail footprint while continuing to introduce its vehicles to new markets.
The expansion comes as Leapmotor experiences strong growth globally. The company recorded 103,129 global sales in August 2026, marking its second consecutive month with more than 100,000 deliveries.
Europe represented 27% of Leapmotor’s global sales in August, highlighting the growing importance of the region to the automaker.
With more than 1,000 retail locations already established, Leapmotor is continuing to expand its presence across Europe. Additional locations are expected to open before the end of 2026, further increasing access to the brand’s electric vehicles and customer services.
The expansion gives Leapmotor a significantly broader physical presence at a time when competition in Europe’s electric vehicle market is intensifying.
By combining its EV technology with Stellantis’ established retail and aftersales infrastructure, Leapmotor is positioning itself to reach more European customers while building the support network needed for long-term growth.
The milestone of 1,020 European retailers represents a significant step in that strategy and signals that Leapmotor’s ambitions in the European EV market extend well beyond simply selling vehicles.
