Opel Corsa-e and Mokka-e ranges in WLTP1 cycle increase to 359 and 338 km respectively

Continuous development of the Opel Corsa-e and Opel Mokka-e has yielded significant increases in the driving ranges of both models – not only in the official WLTP (Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedure) cycle but also in the real world.

On a single charge of its battery, the award-winning Opel Corsa-e, which was introduced in 2019, can now cover up to 359 kilometres according to the WLTP, an increase of around seven per cent. The range of the Mokka-e, which went on sale in 2020 and most recently won the famous “Golden Steering Wheel 2021”2, has increased to 338 km (WLTP).

The range increases have been achieved, for example, through the optimisation of the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) and propulsion systems of the Opel Corsa-e and Opel Mokka-e.

The efficiency of the heat pump, which warms and cools the interior and is standard equipment on both models, is now even higher than before. Heat pumps are more efficient than conventional HVAC systems, as they require less energy from the battery, to the benefit of driving range. Customers will notice the improvements particularly when driving in the winter months.

Additional contributions to the range increases are made by the new transmission reducer and A+ rated 16-inch (Corsa-e) and 17-inch (Mokka-e) tyres.

The Opel Corsa-e and Opel Mokka-e form part of the tradition-rich German carmaker’s comprehensive electrification offensive. Opel already has nine electrified vehicle lines on the market – LCV (Light Commercial Vehicles) as well as passenger cars. The brand’s product portfolio will be fully electrified by 2024. Opel will focus entirely on battery electric vehicles in Europe as of 2028.
