2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N Price Drops by $6,300, Adds Tesla NACS Charging

Hyundai has made its award-winning 2026 IONIQ 5 N significantly more affordable, lowering the starting price by $6,300 compared with the previous model year. The high-performance electric SUV now starts at $59,900 (excluding a $1,600 destination charge), making one of the most exciting electric performance vehicles on the market accessible to a wider range of buyers.

The price reduction is part of Hyundai’s strategy to expand its N performance lineup while bringing track-capable electric performance to more driving enthusiasts. Despite the lower MSRP, the 2026 model also introduces several notable upgrades, including a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port for direct access to the extensive Tesla Supercharger network.

2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N: What’s New?

Along with its lower starting price, the 2026 IONIQ 5 N receives a number of meaningful updates designed to improve convenience, charging compatibility, and everyday usability.

Key changes for the new model year include:

– Standard NACS charging port, replacing the previous CCS connector
– Direct compatibility with the Tesla Supercharger network
– Included CCS-to-NACS adapters for both AC Level 2 and DC fast charging
– New dual-amperage Level 1/Level 2 portable charging cable
– N Drift Optimizer now offers ten adjustable stages instead of a single mode
– Forward Attention Warning using an in-cabin camera
– Automatic up/down operation for the rear windows
– New Performance Blue Pearl exterior paint option

These additions make the IONIQ 5 N more versatile for daily driving while enhancing its performance-focused character.

Still One of the Most Exciting Performance EVs

The IONIQ 5 N remains Hyundai’s first fully electric model developed by the company’s N performance division. Built on Hyundai’s dedicated E-GMP electric vehicle platform, it combines advanced EV technology with engineering expertise gained through Hyundai N’s motorsport program and “Rolling Lab” development vehicles.

The result is an electric SUV engineered to deliver on Hyundai N’s three core performance principles:

– Cornering capability
– Racetrack durability
– Everyday usability

Unlike many performance EVs that focus solely on straight-line acceleration, the IONIQ 5 N has been developed to provide an engaging driving experience on winding roads as well as on the racetrack.

Up to 641 Horsepower with N Grin Boost

Power remains one of the IONIQ 5 N’s biggest highlights.

With N Grin Boost activated, the dual-motor all-wheel-drive system produces up to 641 horsepower, delivering rapid acceleration and impressive performance for both road and track driving.

One of the SUV’s most distinctive features is N e-Shift, a system designed to recreate the feel of Hyundai’s eight-speed dual-clutch transmission found in its gasoline-powered N models. Instead of providing uninterrupted electric acceleration, the technology simulates gear changes by carefully controlling motor torque, creating realistic shift sensations complete with synchronized sound effects and varying torque delivery.

Working alongside N e-Shift is N Active Sound+, which generates multiple sound profiles that provide drivers with audible feedback based on speed and power delivery. Beyond adding excitement, the system also helps drivers better judge vehicle speed and cornering while driving on a race circuit.

Hyundai says these technologies were refined through thousands of kilometers of testing, including extensive development at Germany’s famed Nürburgring circuit.

Greater Value Without Sacrificing Performance

With a substantially lower price and expanded charging compatibility, the 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N offers stronger value than ever before. Buyers receive the same track-ready performance that has earned widespread praise, while benefiting from easier access to public fast charging through the Tesla Supercharger network and several new convenience features.

The combination of 641 horsepower, advanced performance technology, and a more competitive starting price positions the 2026 IONIQ 5 N as one of the most compelling high-performance electric SUVs currently available in the U.S. market.
