Solaris Bus & Coach has secured another major contract with Scandinavian public transport operator Nobina, reinforcing the ongoing shift toward zero-emission mobility in Sweden.
The agreement covers the delivery of 103 Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric buses, scheduled to enter service in 2027 across key regions including Stockholm, Skåne, and Göteborg.
Expanding Electric Public Transport in Sweden
The new order is split across three contracts, with 50 buses allocated to Stockholm, 49 to Skåne, and four units set to operate near Göteborg. These low-entry electric buses are designed to serve both urban and suburban routes, making them a versatile addition to Nobina’s growing fleet.
Each vehicle will be equipped with Solaris High Energy batteries, offering the range required for longer routes beyond city centers while maintaining zero tailpipe emissions.
Strengthening a Long-Term Partnership
The collaboration between Solaris and Nobina dates back to 2010 and has steadily intensified in recent years as electrification efforts accelerate. Since 2024 alone, Solaris has delivered 201 electric buses to the operator.
Looking ahead, total deliveries from the manufacturer to Nobina are expected to exceed 320 electric vehicles across 2026 and 2027. The latest agreement further cements the partnership and highlights Nobina’s continued investment in sustainable public transport solutions.
Driving Toward Zero-Emission Mobility
The growing deployment of electric buses across Sweden reflects broader ambitions to decarbonize public transport networks. By expanding its electric fleet, Nobina is positioning itself at the forefront of this transition, improving both environmental performance and passenger comfort.
With deliveries set for mid-2027, the new Urbino 15 LE electric buses will play a key role in reducing emissions while supporting reliable, efficient transport across Sweden’s urban and suburban regions.
