Skoda is preparing to expand its electric lineup with the all-new Skoda Epiq, a compact electric SUV set to debut in the first half of this year. Positioned as the brand’s most affordable battery-electric model, the Epiq is designed to make EV ownership more accessible—especially for urban drivers and first-time electric car buyers.
As a key part of Skoda’s plan to double its all-electric portfolio by 2026, the Epiq will sit below the Elroq and Enyaq, offering a smaller footprint without compromising range, practicality, or technology.
Compact Size, Real-World Electric Range
Built on the new front-wheel-drive MEB+ platform, the Skoda Epiq combines compact exterior dimensions with a surprisingly spacious interior. Despite its city-friendly size—similar to the combustion-engine Kamiq—the Epiq delivers a WLTP range of up to 267 miles (430 km), making it suitable for both daily commuting and longer trips.
Fast charging is another highlight. The most powerful version supports DC charging up to 133 kW, enabling a 10–80% recharge in just over 20 minutes, ideal for quick highway stops or busy urban lifestyles.

Powertrain Options and Battery Choices
Skoda will offer the Epiq with three power outputs and two battery sizes, giving buyers flexibility based on budget and driving needs:
– Epiq 35: 85 kW with a 38.5 kWh LFP battery
– Epiq 40: 99 kW with a 38.5 kWh LFP battery
– Epiq 55: 155 kW with a 55 kWh NMC battery
All versions support 11 kW AC charging, while DC charging ranges from 50 kW to 133 kW, depending on the variant. The use of LFP batteries for entry models improves durability and cost efficiency, while the larger NMC battery delivers higher energy density and longer range.
Modern Solid Design Makes Its Production Debut
The Skoda Epiq is the first production model to fully adopt Skoda’s new “Modern Solid” design language. The look is minimalist, robust, and distinctly SUV-like, with aerodynamic efficiency playing a major role. A low drag coefficient of 0.275 helps maximize driving range.
Design highlights include:
– New T-shaped LED light signature front and rear
– Tech-Deck Face front mask
– Active air shutters and integrated Air Curtains
– 17- to 19-inch aerodynamically optimized wheels
Matrix-LED headlights will be available on higher trims, offering adaptive light modes for city, highway, and poor weather conditions.

Spacious Interior With Sustainable Materials
Inside, the Epiq follows the same Modern Solid philosophy, featuring clean lines, a horizontal dashboard layout, and ambient lighting to enhance the feeling of space. Standard equipment includes a 13-inch central touchscreen and a 5.3-inch digital driver display, familiar from other Skoda EVs.
Skoda places a strong emphasis on sustainability, with 100% recycled PES textiles used across multiple interior design selections. Higher trims add premium materials like Suedia and Techtona upholstery, along with customizable ambient lighting.
One of the Largest Boots in Its Class
Thanks to the MEB+ platform, the Skoda Epiq offers standout practicality:
– 475 liters of cargo space with rear seats up
– 1,344 liters with seats folded
– Nearly 26 liters of additional interior storage
Classic Skoda “Simply Clever” features return, including an umbrella in the door, a parking ticket holder, recycled-material ice scraper, and a new dedicated storage bag for charging cables in the boot.
Competitive Pricing and Strategic Importance
Skoda says pricing in many markets will be comparable to the combustion-engine Kamiq, giving buyers genuine freedom to choose between electric and ICE powertrains at a similar price point. This makes the Epiq one of the most strategically important EV launches for the brand in the coming years.
The model is also part of the Volkswagen Group’s Core Electric Urban Car family, alongside vehicles like the Cupra Raval and upcoming VW ID. models, benefiting from shared technology and economies of scale.
A Key Player in Skoda’s EV Momentum
Skoda enters this launch with strong electric momentum. In 2025, the Elroq ranked as Europe’s second best-selling BEV, while the Enyaq placed seventh—putting Skoda among the top EV brands on the continent.
With the Epiq, Skoda aims to build on that success by targeting the fast-growing entry-level electric SUV segment, where affordability, efficiency, and everyday usability matter most.
The Skoda Epiq world premiere is expected in the first half of this year, with market launches to follow.
