Electrify America Adds Ultra-Fast EV Charging Serving Travelers to Yosemite National Park

Electrify America, the largest open DC fast-charging network in the U.S., has collaborated with Yosemite Westgate & Buck Meadows Lodge to open an EV charging station in Buck Meadows, California, giving EV drivers traveling to Yosemite National Park a convenient option offering the fastest charging speed available on the market today.

“We know electric vehicle drivers are seeking ultra-fast EV charging options near national parks,” said Anthony Lambkin, senior director of operations at Electrify America. “Yosemite Westgate & Buck Meadows Lodge is known for providing a comfortable travel stop for Yosemite visitors, and we’re excited to provide their guests and all electric vehicle drivers a convenient, fast charging option to make travel to the park more accessible.”

Located just 12 miles from Yosemite National Park, the new Yosemite Westgate & Buck Meadows Lodge station helps facilitate EV travel in the Yosemite area along with Electrify America locations in nearby Oakhurst, Bridgeport and Bishop.  The addition of this new station demonstrates the company’s commitment to provide more fast, reliable and convenient charging infrastructure throughout the country.

Featuring four ultra-fast public EV chargers, two 150 kW and two 350 kW chargers, travelers will be able to quickly charge during their stay at the hotel, or while passing through the area on their way to Yosemite National Park.  Additionally, travelers have the support of Electrify America’s 24-hour Customer Contact Center.

Electric vehicle drivers can manage their fast-charging plan through Electrify America’s mobile app. The app puts EV charging at the fingertips of drivers, and was recently redesigned with thoughtful usability enhancements including streamlined account creation, guidance throughout the charging experience, optimized contactless payment and an intuitive display of charging station information.

“As the last major road stop before entering Yosemite National Park, we attract guests from all over,” said Raj Patel, owner of Yosemite Westgate & Buck Meadows Lodge. “We look forward to welcoming EV drivers from near and far looking to make their next road trip to Yosemite National Park.”

Electrify America currently has more than 640 charging stations across the U.S., with more than 2,700 individual DC fast chargers. Since opening its first charging stations in May 2018, Electrify America has set a rapid pace for its network expansion, opening an average of nearly four stations per week. By the end of 2025, Electrify America plans to install or have under development approximately 1,700 total charging stations with about 9,500 DC fast chargers in the U.S.
