SKODA Octavia vRS iV, Octavia iV and Superb iV all now available for UK emergency services

Emergency services will soon be powered by plug-in hybrid technology as SKODA adds the brand’s first electrified vRS model – the Octavia vRS iV – alongside the Octavia iV and Superb iV to its blue-light squad.

The addition of the three iV models, each available in hatch and estate body styles, marks SKODA’s first electrified offering for emergency services. Police, ambulance and fire and rescue authorities across the UK can take advantage of the performance, practicality and reliability that is synonymous with SKODA models, along with the added economic and environmental benefits associated with lower emission vehicles.

Octavia vRS iV
SKODA’s first electrified vRS model, the Octavia vRS iV, is ideal for any rapid response police unit. Powered by a 1.4-litre TSI engine and 85kW electric motor delivering 245PS, it is capable of sprinting from 0-62mph in little over seven seconds and offers a pure electric range of up to 39 miles.

As well as providing the necessary performance, the Octavia vRS iV comes with an array of features as standard. These include 19-inch alloy wheels and full LED Matrix headlights with adaptive front light system (AFS). SKODA’s range topping 10-inch Columbus touchscreen display with accompanying 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit further assist in the transfer of vital information to the driver navigating their way to a 999 call.

Octavia iV
The all-new Octavia iV will also be making its debut on the emergency service fleet. The advanced petrol/electric plug-in hybrid system offers low fuel consumption and a total power output of 204PS with a remarkable torque of 350Nm and up to 43 miles of pure electric range.

Superb iV
The all-star line-up is completed with the multi-award winning Superb iV. Offered in four different trims, the full range is powered by the same engine as the Octavia iV and vRS iV, producing 218PS and a pure electric range of 37 miles. When fully charged with a full tank of fuel, the Superb iV can travel up to 578 miles.

As with the internal combustion engine derivatives, the Superb iV is extremely practical with a luggage capacity of 485-litres in the hatch and a slightly roomier 510-litres in the estate. This internal space, which can be extended to up to 1,800-litres when folding down the rear seats (in the estate), provides sufficient room for blue-light customers to store and transport vital life-saving emergency equipment such as oxygen tanks, ventilators and other essential breathing apparatus.

SKODA’s iV range will receive the brand’s bespoke emergency service conversion treatment. This includes 360-degree lighting and a full integration of the emergency services’ communication platform within SKODA’s existing infotainment touchscreen. It ensures all functionality, such as the lighting, can be controlled through one central accessible platform.

Individual customer conversion requirements can be accommodated via SKODA’s approved specialist convertors.
