Sport TV Acquire Live Formula E Coverage For Portugal

Formula-E-BeijingSport TV, a leading sports network in Portugal, will televise live coverage of every round of the 2014/2015 FIA Formula E Championship.

In a deal brokered by the international media company MP & Silva, Sport TV will air each race live with all shows featuring comprehensive race coverage together with a round-up of the event’s practice and qualifying sessions, plus all the latest news, features and driver interviews.

Sport TV, which has an estimated 480,000 subscribers, will also televise an extensive 60-minute Formula E highlights programme to review the action from each event.

Sport TV is one of several new broadcasters recently added alongside Spain’s Mediaset, Turkey’s DSmart, Israel’s Sport1 and Sport2, Dolce Sport in Romania, OTE TV in Greece and Setanta Sports Eurasia. These join previous announced broadcasters such as FOX Sports, TV Asahi, ITV4, CANAL+, LeTV, BT Sport and Sky Deutschland.

The FOX Sports deal alone covers 88 territories around the world and a potential global audience of 180 million households, whilst TV Asahi boasts a household reach of 51.4 million. ITV4 is available to almost 26.2 million homes in the UK with an estimated weekly audience of 10.6 million. Meanwhile, CANAL+ has a current estimated household reach of six million homes.
