Sales of the all-electric Nissan LEAF set a June record with 2,347 deliveries, an increase of 5.5 percent for the month. GM’s Chevrolet Volt sold respectable 1,777 cars last month.

Sales of the all-electric Nissan LEAF set a June record, increasing 5.5 percent to 2,347. It’s also the Leaf’s 16th straight month of record sales. In terms of year-to-date results in 2014, sales of the Nissan LEAF now stand at 12,736, an improvement of 29% compared with 2013 when 9,839 were sold.
GM said sales of the Chevrolet Volt rose to 1,777 in June, down 34% over last year’s number of 2,698. Previously in May, Chevrolet Volt sold 1,684 units. Sales for the year are still off 13 percent to 8,615.
|Toyota Prius Plug-in|
Prius Plug-in Hybrid sold 1,571 units during the month, which is up 191.4% compared to June of 2013. Previously in May, Toyota Prius Plug-in sold 2,692 units. In terms of year-to-date results in 2014, sales of the Prius Plug-in Hybrid now stand at 9,300, an improvement of 122.1% compared with 2013.
|Ford C-Max Energi|
Ford C-MAX Energi sold 988 plug-ins, which is up 26.3% compared to May. Overall for the year, 3,928 Ford C-MAX Energi plug-ins have been sold, a 58.3% improvement of 2013.
|Ford Fusion Energi|
June was the best-ever month for Ford Fusion Energi with 1,939 sales, an increase of 44.5 percent over May, the previous best-ever month for the fusion Energi. Overall Ford has now sold 6,235 Fusion Energi plug-ins.
GM sold 97 Cadillac ELRs last month, which brings the total amount sold in the first 6 months to 390 units. The 2014 Cadillac ELR has a starting price of $75,995, including a $995 destination charge but excluding tax, title, license and dealer fees.
|Porsche Panamera S-E Hybrid|
June was strong month for the Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrids with 111. Previously in May and April, Panamera S E-Hybrid sold 53 and 63 units respectively. In terms of year-to-date results in 2014, sales of the Panamera S E-Hybrid now stand at 481 units.
|Tesla Model S – Does not report exactly monthly sales|
Tesla Motors delivered 6,457 Model S electric sedans in the first quarter of 2014 slightly more than it had previously announced, and said that it remains on track to deliver more than 35,000 cars this year. Tesla delivered 22,477 Model S electric sedans in 2013.
|Ford Focus Electric|
Deliveries of the Ford Focus Electric were 197 in June. In May, deliveries of the Focus Electric were 177. Overall Ford has now sold 896 Focus Electric EVs.
The BMW i3 achieved 358 sales last month. Previously in May, the BMW i3 set a new record for plug-in sales in a debut month with 336 deliveries. The BMW i3 will start at $41,350 (without $925 for Destination & Handling) before any federal or state incentives.
|Honda Fit EV|
Honda sold 38 Fit EVs in June. Previously in May, Honda FIT EV sold 33 units. Honda Fit EV production will be halted this fall when the automaker produces its 1,100th Fit EV. With the Fit EV being halted this fall, Honda will be left without a all-electric vehicle to compete in the growing segment.
|Toyota RAV4 EV|
Toyota RAV4 EV sold 91 units last month, after selling 149 units in May. Toyota RAV4 EV sold 69 units in April. In terms of year-to-date results in 2014, sales of the Toyota RAV4 EV now stand at 546 units.
|Honda Accord Plug-in|
The 2014 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid logged 28 units last month. Previously in May, April, March, February and January, Accord Plug-in Hybrid sold 46, 37, 18, 24 and 27 units respectively. In terms of year-to-date results in 2014, sales of the Accord Plug-In Hybrid now stand at 180.
|Smart Fortwo Electric Drive |
Last month, smart fortwo ED sold 278 units, after selling 206 units in May. In terms of year-to-date results in 2014, sales of the smart fortwo ED now stand at 1,092 units.
For June, Fiat 500e sold 166 units, which brings the total amount sold in the first 4 months to 1,016 units. The 2013 Fiat 500e is priced at $32,500, which includes a $700 destination charge. However, eligible California residents may be able to purchase the 2013 Fiat 500e for as low as $20,500, after federal credits.
|Chevrolet Spark EV|
GMsold 85 Chevrolet Spark EVs in June. Previously in May, the Chevrolet Spark EVs set an all-time record in 182 deliveries. In terms of year-to-date results in 2014, sales of the Chevrolet Spark EV now stand at 636.
Mitsubishi sold 22 i-MiEV electric cars in June. Previously in May, Mitsubishi sold 35 i-MiEV electric cars. In terms of year-to-date results in 2014, sales of the i-MiEV now stand at 97 units. 2014 Mitsubishi i-MiEV starts at $22,995 including CHAdeMODC quick charge port, representing a $6,130 reduction from the starting price of the 2012 model that preceded it.
