The ACO (Automobile Club de L’Ouest), the association responsible for the Le Mans race, has invited GreenGT to race its GreenGT LMP H2 in the 2012 Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race.
“After the GreenGT Sprint (2009), the Citroen Servile (2010) and the GreenGT 300 (2011), the Swiss GreenGT company has started the build of a LMP H2 prototype to race at the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans. Based on an LMP chassis, the GreenGT LMP H2 will be fueled by hydrogen and integrate its own onboard power plant,” the official press release states.
The hyrdrogen fuel-cell electrc GreenGT LMPH2 hold 12 kg of hydrogen in 700 bar high-pressure tanks fitted to the car. The electric racer will be able to deliver an output of 300kW or 402hp.
Here’s a video of the GreenGT LMP H2 electric racer doing a demonstration lap at the “Le Mans vers le Futur” (Le Mans toward the future), a support event for the 79th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The demonstration is made as a test to see its competency since the car is about to take part in an experimental race class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2012.
