MG has taken another step toward launching its newest electric sedan, with the first production-spec MG 07 models now arriving at dealerships across China ahead of the official pre-sale opening on July 29.
The all-electric fastback sedan is expected to become one of MG’s most competitive EVs, combining long driving range, advanced driver assistance technology, and premium features at an aggressive price point. Deliveries are currently scheduled to begin during the third quarter of 2026.
MG 07 Targets Affordable Long-Range EV Segment
Although final pricing has yet to be confirmed, SAIC MG has revealed reference pricing targets for two key versions of the MG 07:
– 610 km LiDAR-equipped model: below 150,000 yuan (approximately $22,100)
– 840 km flagship model: below 180,000 yuan (approximately $26,500)
Official retail prices, trim details, and delivery schedules will be announced when pre-sales open later this month.
Production Already Underway
The arrival of production vehicles in showrooms follows the start of mass production earlier in July. Previous filings also revealed patent images hinting at a possible wagon-style derivative that could eventually expand the MG 07 lineup.
The new electric sedan measures 4,886 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,478 mm high, riding on a 2,825 mm wheelbase. Its sleek fastback profile is designed to blend sporty styling with everyday practicality.
Two EV Platforms With Up to 840 km Driving Range
MG will offer the 07 on both 400V and 800V electric architectures.
The entry-level 400V version features a rear-mounted electric motor producing 176 kW (239 hp) paired with a 67 kWh semi-solid-state battery. Depending on the variant, MG claims a driving range of either 610 km or 650 km, although the company has not specified the testing standard used.
Buyers seeking greater performance and range can opt for the 800V models. These versions use a 235 kW (320 hp) rear motor combined with a CATL ternary lithium battery, delivering a claimed 840 km driving range.
The flagship models also support 5C ultra-fast charging, though MG has not yet released official charging speeds or charging-time figures.
Advanced Suspension and Driver Assistance
Every MG 07 comes equipped with mCDC intelligent electromagnetic suspension featuring AI-powered road preview technology designed to improve ride comfort and handling.
Higher-spec variants add a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor and the Momenta R7 advanced driver assistance system. According to MG, the system supports urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) as well as “parking spot to parking spot” assisted-driving functionality.
Modern Interior With Premium Features
Inside, the MG 07 focuses on technology and comfort.
The cabin features a 15.6-inch 2.5K touchscreen powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295P processor, complemented by an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster.
Other highlights include a zero-gravity front passenger seat, a generous 697-liter rear cargo area, and a 109-liter front trunk, giving the electric sedan impressive practicality for daily use.
MG 07 Launch Timeline
The MG 07 is entering its public preview phase as vehicles continue arriving at dealerships throughout China. Final specifications, trim levels, and official pricing will be announced when pre-sales begin on July 29, with customer deliveries expected to start in Q3 2026.
With pricing expected to remain below 180,000 yuan ($26,500) for the flagship model, the MG 07 could become one of the most compelling long-range electric sedans in China’s increasingly competitive EV market.
