Nissan has unveiled the all-new Nissan PIXO, a compact electric city car designed specifically for European urban driving. Combining a small footprint with a surprisingly spacious cabin, fast charging and Google-powered connectivity, the PIXO is set to become a new entry point into Nissan’s growing EV lineup.
The new Nissan PIXO offers a 161-mile electric range, 50kW DC rapid charging as standard, One Pedal driving and flexible rear seating. It also introduces Nissan’s first Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery in a European model.
Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2027, with pricing, market specifications and pre-order details expected to be announced from December 2026.
Nissan PIXO Targets Europe’s Growing Urban EV Market
At just 3,796mm long and 1,790mm wide, the Nissan PIXO is designed to make city driving easier. Its compact dimensions allow it to navigate narrow streets and crowded urban areas while making parking easier.
Despite its small exterior, Nissan says the PIXO can comfortably accommodate up to four adults. Independent sliding rear seats add flexibility, allowing owners to prioritise passenger space or cargo capacity depending on their needs.
The PIXO provides 18 litres of cabin storage and a claimed 356-litre boot, including 50 litres of dedicated cable storage with the rear seats raised. That combination gives the small EV a practical advantage for everyday city use.
161-Mile Range and 50kW Rapid Charging
The Nissan PIXO has been designed around the driving patterns of urban EV owners, with a claimed 161-mile range on a full charge.
Charging performance is also a key part of the package. Every PIXO grade comes with 50kW DC rapid charging as standard, allowing the battery to charge from 15% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes.
An 11kW AC charger is also available for convenient home and workplace charging.
The PIXO uses a new LFP battery, marking the first application of this battery chemistry in a Nissan model in Europe. LFP batteries are increasingly being used in more affordable EVs because of their durability and suitability for everyday driving.
Distinctive Nissan Design in a Small Package
Nissan has given the PIXO a distinctive exterior rather than treating it as a conventional budget city car.
The design combines cube-inspired proportions with clean body surfaces, creating a compact but confident stance. Pixel-inspired lighting and a distinctive front-end design give the PIXO a recognizable identity within Nissan’s expanding electric range.
The front bumper incorporates what Nissan describes as a playful “robot face,” while hidden “23” Easter eggs appear throughout the vehicle as a reference to “Ni-San,” the Japanese pronunciation of Nissan.
Buyers will also be able to choose from contemporary colours including Wonder Purple and Gear Blue, reinforcing the PIXO’s youthful urban character.
Google Built-In and Gemini Bring More Connected Technology
Technology is another major focus of the new Nissan PIXO.
The small EV comes with Google built-in, offering integrated navigation, route planning and connectivity. Nissan is also introducing Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, as part of the PIXO’s connected experience.
Gemini will support navigation, entertainment and communication through natural voice interaction. Nissan says conversation history can allow the system to adapt to driver preferences over time.
The infotainment setup consists of a 7-inch driver display and 10-inch central touchscreen. The vehicle can also be managed through the MyNissan app and connected services, including charging and other vehicle functions.
A Face ID system can recognise the driver and automatically load personalised settings.
Compact EV Offers 60kW of Power
The Nissan PIXO produces up to 60kW of power and is designed to deliver instant electric acceleration, which should make it well suited to stop-and-go urban traffic.
Its 9.9-metre turning circle further emphasises the city-focused character of the vehicle.
One Pedal technology is standard, allowing the driver to accelerate, slow down and bring the car to a stop using the accelerator pedal. Nissan says the system is particularly useful in busy urban traffic.
The PIXO will also come with a range of driver assistance technologies, including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, Lane Departure Warning and Hands-Free Parking.
Nissan PIXO Production and Launch Date
The Nissan PIXO has been designed by Nissan and engineered for European customers. Production will be carried out by long-standing partner Renault at its Novo Mesto manufacturing facility in Slovenia.
The new model expands Nissan’s European EV portfolio with a smaller and more accessible electric vehicle aimed specifically at city drivers.
Nissan has not yet announced pricing. Pricing, market specifications and pre-order information are expected from December 2026, ahead of customer deliveries beginning in early 2027.
With its compact dimensions, 161-mile range, standard rapid charging, flexible interior and increasingly sophisticated connected technology, the Nissan PIXO is positioned as a practical small EV for Europe’s increasingly electrified cities.
