The refreshed Renault Megane E-Tech electric is now available to order in the UK, with prices starting at £28,245 on the road after the full £3,750 Electric Car Grant (ECG).
Renault has simplified the Megane E-Tech electric range to two versions while adding a larger-capacity LFP battery, more standard technology, improved charging performance and a redesigned exterior.
Both the techno and esprit Alpine versions use the same 220hp electric motor and new 67kWh LFP battery. Depending on specification, the updated electric hatchback can deliver up to 306 miles of WLTP range.
Renault Megane E-Tech Electric Price and Range
The new Megane E-Tech electric is available in two trim levels in the UK:
| Version | Price after £3,750 ECG | Range |
| Megane E-Tech techno | £28,245 | Up to 306 miles |
| Megane E-Tech esprit Alpine | £31,245 | Up to 298 miles |
The entry-level techno is now positioned as the more affordable option, while the esprit Alpine adds sportier styling and additional comfort and technology features.
The simplified range means buyers no longer have to navigate a long list of powertrain and battery combinations.
67kWh LFP Battery Delivers Up to 306 Miles
A major change for the refreshed Megane E-Tech electric is its new 67kWh LFP battery.
In techno specification, the battery provides up to 306 miles of WLTP combined range, an increase of 21 miles compared with the outgoing model. The esprit Alpine has a maximum WLTP range of 298 miles.
The battery uses a cell-to-pack architecture and works with a 160kW electric motor producing 220hp and 300Nm of torque.
Renault has also retained features designed to improve efficiency and everyday usability, including a heat pump, battery pre-conditioning and five levels of regenerative braking. One Pedal driving is also available.
Faster 165kW DC Charging
Charging performance has received another significant upgrade.
The new Megane E-Tech electric can now accept up to 165kW of DC rapid charging, allowing the battery to charge from 15% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes.
That is around 25% quicker than the previous model, making the updated Megane better suited to longer-distance driving.
An 11kW AC charger is standard, while battery pre-conditioning can prepare the battery for rapid charging before arriving at a compatible charging station.
The Megane also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, allowing compatible electrical equipment to draw power from the vehicle with the appropriate adaptor.
More Standard Equipment Across Two Trims
Renault has increased the amount of equipment included with both versions.
The Megane E-Tech techno starts at £28,245 after the ECG and comes with 19-inch Stream black diamond-cut alloy wheels, a 360-degree 3D camera, driver recognition, driver attention monitoring and a 12-inch openR link multimedia system with Google built-in.
The £31,245 esprit Alpine adds 20-inch Speedway black diamond-cut wheels, front electric seats with a driver massage function, Harman Kardon premium audio and active driver assistance features.
Both versions come with a 12.3-inch digital driver display, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, hands-free parking, heated front seats and steering wheel, and the heat pump as standard.
Refreshed Renault Megane E-Tech Design
The updated Megane E-Tech electric receives a comprehensive visual refresh.
At the front, almost every component apart from the headlights has been redesigned. The new daytime running light signature features eight diamond-shaped elements arranged in a chequerboard pattern, while a closed gloss-black grille incorporates Renault’s diamond motif.
The rear also gets redesigned lighting with three-dimensional elements.
The techno model now comes with 19-inch wheels as standard, while the esprit Alpine stands out with larger 20-inch wheels and distinctive Alpine-inspired exterior and interior details.
Google Gemini and Smarter Connected Technology
Inside, the Megane continues to use Renault’s openR link multimedia system with Google built-in, combining a 12-inch central touchscreen with the 12.3-inch digital instrument display.
The updated system now includes Google Gemini, providing more conversational interaction with the vehicle.
Renault has also introduced Smart Mode, which can automatically select an appropriate Multi-Sense driving mode based on driving conditions and vehicle use.
A ventilated Qi2 15W wireless smartphone charger is now standard. Driver recognition can identify a saved driver and automatically restore personalised vehicle settings.
Renault Megane E-Tech Electric: Key Takeaways
The refreshed Renault Megane E-Tech electric combines a more streamlined range with meaningful improvements to range, charging and standard equipment.
With a starting price of £28,245 after the Electric Car Grant, up to 306 miles of WLTP range and 165kW DC charging, the updated Megane remains an important model in Renault’s growing electric vehicle lineup.
The new Megane also joins the Renault 5, Renault 4 and Renault Scenic in qualifying for the maximum £3,750 Electric Car Grant, meaning Renault’s current fully electric passenger-car range now has models eligible for the full grant.
