The all-new ninth-generation Toyota Hilux marks a significant step forward for one of the world’s most recognizable pickup trucks. Building on decades of global success, the latest Hilux introduces bold styling, enhanced capability, and a fully digital cabin experience—while embracing electrification for the first time.
Toyota’s latest update aligns with its broader strategy to offer multiple powertrain options, giving buyers flexibility to reduce emissions without compromising usability or performance.
Electrification arrives: EV and Diesel 48V options
For the first time, the Hilux lineup includes a fully electric variant, sitting alongside a new Diesel 48V electrified powertrain. This dual approach reflects Toyota’s “multi-path” strategy, targeting both traditional pickup buyers and those ready to transition to zero-emission driving.
The all-electric Hilux is designed to deliver strong off-road capability while introducing modern systems such as Multi-Terrain Select and Downhill Assist Control. Meanwhile, the Diesel 48V model enhances efficiency and drivability, with the added benefit of electric power steering—another first for the Hilux.
Single body style, improved practicality
The new Hilux range simplifies its offering by moving to a single Double Cab configuration. A five-seat layout comes as standard, with a two-seat commercial conversion expected later in 2026.
This streamlined approach allows Toyota to focus on maximizing comfort, cabin quality, and usability, while still catering to both work and lifestyle needs.
