Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Leapmotor achieved its strongest monthly performance to date in April 2026, supported by the successful launch of several new models and a rapid increase in production capacity.
The company delivered 71,387 vehicles globally during April, including domestic and export sales. That represented a 73.95% increase year-over-year and a 42.69% rise compared to March 2026. The strong results pushed Leapmotor to the top position among new energy vehicle start-ups for both April and the year-to-date period.
From January through April, total deliveries reached 181,542 units, marking a 41.18% increase compared with the same period last year. The latest figures further strengthen Leapmotor’s position as one of China’s fastest-growing electric vehicle brands.
Beijing Auto Show Highlights New EV Strategy
Leapmotor also drew significant attention at the Beijing Auto Show, where the company showcased several key additions to its expanding lineup.
Among the headline models was the new D19 SUV, positioned as the brand’s flagship electric SUV. The company also introduced the Lafa5, which will carry the global name B05 Ultra, alongside the A10 compact SUV, internationally known as the B03X.
The display highlighted Leapmotor’s broader strategy of accelerating innovation across multiple EV segments while expanding its presence in intelligent electric mobility.
Strong Demand for New Models Fuels Sales Surge
Much of Leapmotor’s recent momentum has been driven by strong customer demand for its latest launches.
The D19 SUV, officially introduced on April 16, generated more than 15,000 confirmed orders within its first 15 days on sale. Meanwhile, the B05 Ultra debuted during the opening day of the Beijing Auto Show on April 24, while the B03X compact SUV had already entered the market in late March.
The rapid expansion of the product portfolio is helping Leapmotor compete more aggressively in China’s increasingly crowded EV market, where manufacturers continue to focus on advanced technology, intelligent driving systems, and affordability.
Leapmotor Targets One Million Deliveries in 2026
After delivering nearly 600,000 vehicles throughout 2025, Leapmotor is now aiming to reach one million deliveries in 2026.
The company’s strong April results reinforce confidence in achieving that ambitious target. Continued investment in production capacity, combined with an expanding lineup of smart electric vehicles, is expected to support further growth during the remainder of the year.
As competition intensifies in the global EV sector, Leapmotor continues to position itself as a fast-growing manufacturer focused on making intelligent electric mobility more accessible to mainstream buyers.
