2027 BMW iX3: Canadaian Range, Price and Specs Revealed

The next-generation BMW iX3 has officially been priced for Canada, and it’s making a strong case as one of the most compelling midsize electric SUVs arriving in 2026. With a starting price of $75,900 CAD and a confirmed driving range of up to 698 km (EPA cycle), the new iX3 raises expectations for what drivers can expect from a practical, long-range EV.

That figure significantly surpasses earlier estimates of 650 km, putting the iX3 at the forefront of efficiency in its class.

Longer Range, Real-World Benefits

The standout headline is clear: nearly 700 km of range on a single charge. This leap is the result of improvements in aerodynamics, powertrain efficiency and intelligent energy management.

For everyday driving, that translates into tangible advantages. Long-distance trips become easier with fewer charging stops, winter driving brings less range anxiety, and daily commutes require less frequent plug-ins. In short, the iX3 is designed to make electric mobility more convenient without compromise.

Competitive Pricing in the Premium EV Segment

At $75,900 CAD, the iX3 undercuts many long-range electric SUVs while delivering range figures typically associated with larger, more expensive models. This pricing strategy positions it as a high-value option in the premium midsize segment.

Despite the competitive entry point, the vehicle does not sacrifice performance or technology—two areas where BMW continues to push forward.

Sixth-Generation eDrive Technology

Under the skin, the iX3 introduces BMW’s latest sixth-generation eDrive system. This includes next-generation electric motors and upgraded battery cell technology, improving energy density, durability and charging performance.

The result is not just longer range, but also stronger efficiency across varying driving conditions.

A new centralized control system—referred to as the “Heart of Joy”—integrates powertrain, chassis and traction control. This allows the iX3 to maintain the precise handling and driving feel expected from the brand.

Ultra-Fast Charging Up to 400 kW

Fast-charging capability is another major highlight. The iX3 supports DC charging speeds of up to 400 kW, enabling rapid top-ups during long journeys.

While real-world charging speeds depend on infrastructure, this capability future-proofs the vehicle as ultra-fast charging networks expand.

Panoramic iDrive and Digital Interior

Inside, the iX3 debuts BMW’s Panoramic iDrive system, a full-width display that stretches across the base of the windshield. This pillar-to-pillar interface keeps essential driving data within the driver’s natural line of sight.

The cabin also features the latest BMW Operating System X and ConnectedDrive services, combining intuitive controls with advanced connectivity.

Beyond technology, the interior remains spacious and premium, aligning with expectations in the segment.

Designed for Efficiency and Driving Dynamics

The iX3’s impressive range is supported by a combination of low-drag exterior design, advanced thermal management and optimized regenerative braking.

These elements work together to maximize efficiency while preserving the engaging driving dynamics BMW is known for.

Launch Timing

The 2027 BMW iX3 is scheduled to arrive in Canada in Fall 2026. Given its combination of range, pricing and technology, it is positioned to become one of the most influential electric SUVs in its category.

With nearly 700 km of range, next-generation EV technology and a competitive price point, the new BMW iX3 sets a new standard for midsize electric SUVs. It bridges the gap between affordability and long-distance capability, making it a strong contender for drivers looking to transition to electric without compromise.
