Kia UK Partners with Ohme to Deliver Integrated EV Charging Solutions

Kia UK has named Ohme as its preferred EV charging partner across its PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) Centres, strengthening its push into electric commercial mobility. The collaboration, supported by Radius, is designed to provide businesses with a seamless, end-to-end charging solution covering both home and depot needs.

The agreement enables Kia’s retailer network to offer fully integrated charging alongside its growing range of electric commercial vehicles. This aligns with the brand’s broader strategy to deliver complete mobility ecosystems, where vehicles, infrastructure, and services are bundled into a single offering for fleet and business customers.

Ohme, currently the largest home EV charging provider in the UK and Ireland, brings smart charging technology that dynamically interacts with the electricity grid. Its chargers automatically optimize charging schedules to take advantage of the lowest-cost and greenest energy tariffs available, helping reduce both operating costs and emissions.

The partnership is particularly relevant for operators of Kia’s upcoming PBV lineup, including models such as the PV5 Cargo. Using a dynamic tariff like Intelligent Octopus Go, a full charge of the PV5 Cargo’s 71.2 kWh battery—offering up to 258 miles (WLTP)—can cost as little as £5.70, highlighting the cost-efficiency potential of smart charging.

Beyond cost savings, Ohme’s system enables charging during periods of peak renewable energy generation, reducing carbon impact. It also provides detailed CO2 tracking data, a feature that is increasingly valuable for fleet operators navigating new sustainability reporting requirements introduced in 2026.

Ohme’s credentials in the fleet sector are well established. The company serves as the official charging partner for Motability Operations and has received industry recognition from Business Motoring for its EV charging solutions, including awards for both passenger and commercial vehicle charging.

By integrating advanced charging infrastructure into its PBV ecosystem, Kia UK is positioning itself to simplify EV adoption for businesses, lowering barriers to entry while improving operational efficiency.
