It’s time for the all-new PEUGEOT e-208 to be reviewed by Fully Charged Show. Jonny Smith drives the slick looking 5-door only e-208 in Portugal in top spec GT trim.
The all-new e-208 is available in Active, Allure and GT Line trim levels. All electric models come with a 211-mile WLTP range, a 50kWh battery and 100kW (136hp) electric motor to provide a 211 mile range from a full charge under the WLTP testing and a 0-62mph (100km) time of 8.1 seconds.
All e-208 models come with three driving modes – Sport, Normal and Eco – and support rapid charging up to 100kWh, with an 80% charge taking just 30 minutes. The e-208 also features unique styling cues to set the electric model apart, including a body coloured chequered front grille, a bespoke ‘e’ monogram on the C-pillar and a dichroic Lion, which changes colour from different angles.
PEUGEOT recommend using a wallbox charger, so the all-new e-208 comes with a Mode 3 Type 2 cable as standard, which will charge the vehicle in 7.5 hours with a 7kW charging point. PEUGEOT customers can also download the MyPeugeot app, which will allow them to manage their vehicle charge remotely, precondition the temperature of the vehicle and receive ‘e-Coaching’ on how to benefit most from their vehicle. PEUGEOT will provide a ‘Charging Pass’ to their customers which enables them to access certain UK public charging points through a free subscription for an introductory period.
Prices will start in the UK from £25,050 OTR making it arch-rival to Renault’s Zoe, the forthcoming electric Mini Cooper SE and well established Nissan Leaf.
As part of the PSA Group the e-208 shares its chassis and main components with the range-topping DS 3 Crossback e-tense and also the forthcoming Opel/Vauxhall Corsa-e.
