DENZA D9 Arrives in the UK from £75,000 with 130-Mile Electric Range

DENZA has officially announced UK pricing and specifications for the new D9, introducing the brand’s premium seven-seat MPV to the market. The D9 is the first model to combine DENZA’s advanced DM-i AWD plug-in hybrid system with its new FLASH Charging technology, offering rapid charging, long electric driving range and luxury-focused comfort.

Available to order now, the D9 starts at £75,000 for the Elegance trim, while the flagship Ultimate model is priced from £85,000 (MRRP). Both variants feature the same all-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid powertrain and an extensive list of premium equipment.

DM-i AWD Plug-in Hybrid Powertrain

The DENZA D9 is powered by a Dual Mode Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (DM-i AWD) system that prioritizes electric driving while providing the flexibility of a petrol engine for longer journeys.

The system combines two electric motors with a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. The front electric motor produces 231 PS, while the rear motor contributes an additional 61 PS. Under normal driving conditions, the electric motors power the vehicle independently, with the petrol engine primarily acting as a generator to recharge the battery. When additional performance is required, the engine also assists with propulsion.

The result is smooth, refined acceleration, allowing the D9 to sprint from 0-62 mph in 8.6 seconds.

Ride quality is enhanced by the DiSus-C intelligent damping system, which continuously adjusts suspension settings to balance comfort with handling. The adaptive suspension works with MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link rear setup to improve body control while maintaining a comfortable ride over uneven roads.

FLASH Charging Delivers Industry-Leading Charging Speeds

One of the D9’s standout technologies is its compatibility with DENZA’s FLASH Charging system, setting a new benchmark for plug-in hybrid charging performance.

The 58.5 kWh battery can charge from:
– 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes
– 10% to 97% in 9 minutes
– 20% to 97% in 12 minutes, even in temperatures as low as -30°C

The system supports charging speeds equivalent to 559 kW, dramatically reducing charging times compared with conventional plug-in hybrids.

On a full battery, the D9 delivers up to 130 miles (209 km) of electric driving. When combined with a full fuel tank, total driving range reaches 590 miles (950 km), making it suitable for both daily commuting and long-distance travel.

Elegance Trim Comes Well Equipped

Even the entry-level Elegance trim includes an extensive list of standard features designed for premium family and executive transport.

Powered sliding side doors provide easy access to the second and third rows, while all seven seats are upholstered in leather. A 1.1-square-metre panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade creates a bright and spacious cabin.

Second-row passengers benefit from LCD touchscreens integrated into the armrests, allowing convenient control of climate and infotainment functions. Additional comfort features include a heated and cooled storage compartment for food and beverages, along with a premium Devialet audio system.

Front occupants are equally well catered for with heated and ventilated seats featuring a 10-point massage function, a heated steering wheel, a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

Ultimate Trim Adds Business-Class Luxury

The Ultimate trim builds upon the already generous specification with several exclusive luxury upgrades.

Sliding doors and the tailgate can be opened using foot gestures, while second-row passengers enjoy Zero Gravity seats with 14-way power adjustment, 16-point massage, and reclining capability of up to 152 degrees. Each rear passenger also receives a dedicated 12.8-inch entertainment display mounted behind the front seats.

Premium Nappa leather upholstery is fitted throughout the cabin, while heating and ventilation are available for all seven seats.

Additional technology includes:

– 12-inch head-up display
– 10.25-inch passenger display
– Digital rear-view mirror
– Wood dashboard and door trim

These upgrades further position the D9 as a luxury people carrier aimed at executive and family buyers alike.

Spacious Seven-Seat Cabin

The D9 offers generous accommodation across all three seating rows without compromising cargo capacity.

With all seven seats in use, luggage space ranges from 430 to 570 litres, depending on seat configuration. Folding the third row increases practicality significantly, with maximum cargo capacity reaching 2,310 litres in four-seat mode.

UK Pricing

The DENZA D9 is available to order in the UK in two trim levels:

– DENZA D9 Elegance: from £75,000
– DENZA D9 Ultimate: from £85,000

With its combination of a long electric driving range, exceptionally fast charging capability, premium interior and extensive standard equipment, the DENZA D9 enters the UK market as one of the most technologically advanced luxury plug-in hybrid MPVs currently available.
