BMW M Concept Neue Klasse Leads BMW’s Monterey Car Week 2026 Lineup

BMW is bringing a major lineup of new concepts, legendary M cars and design-focused premieres to Monterey Car Week 2026, with the all-electric BMW M Concept Neue Klasse taking center stage.

Making its North American debut on Thursday, August 13, at the House of M, the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse previews the design language and performance technology planned for the automaker’s future electric M vehicles. The concept follows its world premiere at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and offers the clearest look yet at BMW M’s approach to high-performance electric vehicles.

The Monterey program also includes the North American debut of the Vision BMW ALPINA, a 40th-anniversary celebration of the BMW M3, and the latest chapter of BMW’s collaboration with fashion and lifestyle brand Kith.

BMW M Concept Neue Klasse Previews Electric M Performance

The all-electric BMW M Concept Neue Klasse is the headline attraction of BMW’s Monterey Car Week program.

Its most significant technical feature is a four-electric-motor drivetrain controlled by M-specific programming for BMW’s Heart of Joy control unit, which the automaker describes as a “superbrain.” The system is designed to provide advanced control of the four motors and preview how BMW M could apply Neue Klasse technology to future high-performance EVs.

BMW has not yet revealed production specifications for the concept, including power output, battery capacity or driving range. Instead, the vehicle is primarily positioned as a preview of the design and engineering direction of the next generation of electric BMW M models.

Following its North American premiere on August 13, the concept will appear at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion and later on the Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Vision BMW ALPINA Makes North American Debut

BMW will also use Monterey Car Week to introduce the Vision BMW ALPINA to North American audiences.

The design study, first revealed at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, combines traditional ALPINA styling cues with a more modern interpretation of luxury and performance. Its design features include a low coupé roofline, shark nose and subtle decorative body lines.

Inside, the Vision BMW ALPINA emphasizes craftsmanship with full-grain leather, finely finished metal surfaces and crystal controls.

BMW has not announced a powertrain or performance specifications for the concept, making its design and craftsmanship the primary focus of the Monterey debut.

The Vision BMW ALPINA will make its North American premiere at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering on Friday, August 14.

BMW M3 Celebrates 40 Years

BMW is also marking four decades of the BMW M3 during Monterey Car Week.

The celebration begins at Legends of the Autobahn, where a selection of landmark M3 road and racing cars will highlight the model’s evolution from the original E30 generation to the latest cars.

The anniversary continues at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where four generations of BMW M3 racing cars will be displayed and driven on the track.

Among the featured cars are the 1992 E30 M3 DTM and the 2011 E92 M3 GT. Drivers including Mike Skeen, Bill Auberlen and Frank van Meel will take part in the track activities.

The M3’s 40-year history provides an important link between BMW’s traditional motorsport heritage and the electric performance technology represented by the M Concept Neue Klasse.

BMW and Kith Continue Their Collaboration

BMW will also put its long-running collaboration with Kith in the spotlight during Monterey Car Week.

An invitation-only panel on Saturday evening will feature BMW design leadership alongside Kith founder, CEO and Creative Director Ronnie Fieg. The event will reveal bespoke BMW automobiles and provide an early look at the 2026 Kith for BMW clothing and accessories collection.

The collaboration extends BMW’s presence beyond traditional automotive design, connecting its vehicles with fashion, lifestyle and contemporary design.

BMW Concepts Head to Pebble Beach

BMW will bring the Monterey Car Week program to a close on Sunday, August 16, with both the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse and Vision BMW ALPINA appearing on the Concept Lawn at the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

With an electric M concept previewing four-motor performance technology and the Vision BMW ALPINA showcasing a new interpretation of luxury design, BMW’s 2026 Monterey Car Week presence highlights two very different directions for the brand.

The BMW M Concept Neue Klasse, in particular, offers an early glimpse at what the next generation of high-performance electric BMWs could look like as the automaker moves deeper into the Neue Klasse era.
