OMODA and JAECOO have surpassed 100,000 vehicle sales in the UK less than two years after OMODA officially entered the market, highlighting the rapid growth of the Chinese automotive brands among British buyers.
OMODA launched in the UK on August 31, 2024, followed by JAECOO in January 2025. Since then, the brands have expanded their combined retail network to more than 144 locations and reached a market share of almost 5.7%.
The milestone comes as OMODA and JAECOO continue to expand their model ranges, offering petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains across several vehicle segments.
JAECOO 7 Leads the Brand’s UK Growth
The JAECOO 7 has been a major driver of the company’s success in Britain. Since September 2025, the SUV has consistently appeared among the UK’s 10 best-selling cars, making it one of the country’s strongest-performing new model launches in recent years.
More than 53,000 JAECOO 7 vehicles have been registered in the UK since the model went on sale in February 2025. The SUV has attracted both private and fleet customers, with retail buyers accounting for 66% of registrations.
The flagship JAECOO 7 SHS-P plug-in hybrid has been particularly successful, accounting for 75% of customer choices.
OMODA 5 Passes 36,500 UK Sales
The OMODA 5 was the first model launched by the dual-brand operation in the UK and has also established a strong presence among private and fleet customers.
More than 36,500 OMODA 5 vehicles have been sold in Britain to date, with retail customers accounting for 71% of registrations.
The model is available with three powertrain options: a TGDi petrol engine, SHS-H full hybrid technology and a fully electric powertrain, giving buyers a choice across different price and usage requirements.
Growing OMODA and JAECOO Model Lineup
The two brands have significantly expanded their UK ranges since their respective launches.
OMODA’s current lineup includes the OMODA 5, OMODA 7 and flagship OMODA 9. JAECOO’s range includes the JAECOO 5, JAECOO 7 and new flagship JAECOO 8.
Across the combined lineup, customers can choose from petrol, full hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles.
The expansion is also being supported by continued investment in the UK retail and aftersales network. OMODA and JAECOO now have more than 144 retail locations, alongside investment in logistics, parts distribution and customer support.
The company has also extended RAC roadside assistance across Europe, adding to its warranty and ownership support package.
Chinese Automakers Continue to Gain Ground in the UK
The rapid rise of OMODA and JAECOO comes as Chinese automotive manufacturers continue to increase their presence in the UK market.
The brands have built awareness through partnerships and appearances at major UK events, including London Fashion Week, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, EPCR Finals Weekend and SMMT Test Day.
OMODA and JAECOO have also received recognition from several automotive organisations. Recent accolades include Best Family Plug-in Hybrid for the OMODA 9 from The Car Expert, Auto Trader’s Best Value New Car award for the OMODA 5 and Carwow’s Brand of the Year 2026 award for JAECOO.
OMODA&JAECOO UK operates as part of Chery International UK. The wider Chery Group recently surpassed 20 million global vehicle sales, providing the UK operation with the backing of one of China’s largest automotive manufacturers.
More New Models Planned
The 100,000-sales milestone arrives with OMODA and JAECOO planning further product launches, retailer expansion and customer initiatives during the remainder of 2026 and beyond.
For a pair of brands that entered the UK market only recently, reaching 100,000 sales represents a significant early achievement. The expanding lineup, growing retailer network and increasing availability of electrified powertrains position OMODA and JAECOO for further competition in Britain’s highly competitive new-car market.
