Leapmotor B05 Priced From £28,995 in the UK, Offering Up to 300 Miles of Range

Leapmotor has announced UK pricing for its new B05 electric hatchback, with retail customers able to purchase the model from £28,995 after the brand’s £1,500 self-funded LEAP-GRANT incentive.

Designed to deliver premium technology, strong performance, and long-range capability at an accessible price point, the B05 becomes the latest addition to Leapmotor’s growing UK lineup. The new hatchback follows the company’s “value without compromise” approach, offering a single highly equipped trim level packed with features that are often reserved for more expensive electric vehicles.

Up to 300 Miles of WLTP Range

Built on Leapmotor’s advanced Cell-to-Chassis (CTC2.0+) architecture, the B05 combines efficiency, performance, and safety in a compact package.

Power comes from a rear-mounted electric motor producing 215 horsepower, sending power to the rear wheels. The setup enables the B05 to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 6.7 seconds, aided by a Launch Control system.

The hatchback is equipped with a 67.1 kWh usable battery that delivers up to 300 miles (WLTP) of driving range. When connected to a DC fast charger, the battery can charge from 30% to 80% in just 17 minutes, with a peak charging rate of 174 kW.

Leapmotor’s next-generation electric drive system uses an oil-cooling technology designed to improve efficiency, durability, and performance. The lightweight motor weighs approximately 60 kg and achieves an efficiency rating of 94%, helping maximize range while reducing energy losses.

Premium Features Included as Standard

Unlike many competitors that rely on optional packages and multiple trim levels, the B05 is offered in a single specification loaded with standard equipment.

Key features include:

– Panoramic sunroof
– 19-inch alloy wheels
– Automatic climate control
– Automatic LED headlights and taillights
– Heated and power-folding exterior mirrors
– Wireless smartphone charging
– Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility
– 12-speaker premium audio system
– Electrically adjustable front seats

The cabin combines comfort with sustainability through OEKO-TEX-certified eco-leather upholstery and bamboo charcoal materials. Front seats feature a seven-layer construction designed to improve long-distance comfort.

Aerodynamic Design Meets Everyday Practicality

The B05 adopts a coupe-inspired design that helps achieve a drag coefficient of just 0.26. Aerodynamic enhancements include flush door handles, integrated front air curtains, an active grille, and frameless doors.

Despite its sleek styling, practicality remains a priority. Thanks to the space-efficient Cell-to-Chassis platform, the B05 offers generous rear passenger room and improved comfort with rear seats featuring a 27-degree recline angle.

Cargo capacity stands at 345 liters with the rear seats in place and expands to 1,400 liters when the 60/40 split-folding rear seats are folded. The vehicle also includes 25 storage compartments throughout the cabin and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points on the outer rear seats.

Buyers can choose from five exterior colors, including the signature Lightning Yellow, alongside Starry Night Blue, Windy Grey, Metallic Black, and Galaxy Silver. Two interior themes are available at no additional cost.

Advanced Driver Assistance Technology

Safety is a major focus for the B05, which introduces 21 driver assistance systems capable of supporting Level 2 semi-autonomous driving functions.

The vehicle utilizes 14 sensors and cameras, including surround-view cameras, ultrasonic sensors, front and rear radar units, a driver monitoring camera, and a forward-facing camera.

Available technologies include:

– Automatic emergency braking
– Adaptive cruise control
– Lane keeping assist
– Automatic lane change
– Blind spot detection
– Driver fatigue monitoring
– Door-open warning for cyclists

These systems are designed to enhance safety and convenience during both urban and highway driving.

European-Tuned Driving Dynamics

Leapmotor worked with Stellantis chassis specialists to tailor the B05 for European roads. The hatchback features a McPherson front suspension and an integrated rear multi-link setup that incorporates the rear motor to reduce weight.

Combined with a near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution and rear-wheel-drive layout, the suspension tuning aims to deliver a balance of comfort, agility, and driver engagement.

Connected Through the Leapmotor App

The B05 includes full integration with the Leapmotor smartphone app. Owners can remotely control climate settings, door locks, steering wheel heating, and seat heating or ventilation functions.

The app can also function as a Bluetooth digital key, allowing drivers to unlock and start the vehicle using only their smartphone. An NFC key card is supplied as standard.

UK Pricing and Availability

The Leapmotor B05 is priced at £30,495 on-the-road before the LEAP-GRANT incentive. Retail buyers can take advantage of the £1,500 discount, reducing the effective purchase price to £28,995.

For company car users, the B05 qualifies for a low 4% Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) tax rate for the 2026/27 tax year, enhancing its appeal as a fleet and business vehicle.

Orders will open through Leapmotor UK’s network of 79 retailers in early July, with first customer deliveries scheduled to begin later that month.

The B05 is covered by a four-year/60,000-mile vehicle warranty, while the battery receives separate coverage for eight years or 100,000 miles.
