Peugeot E-208 GTi Debuts at Le Mans as the Brand’s First All-Electric GTi

PEUGEOT has officially unveiled the production version of the new E-208 GTi at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking the return of one of the brand’s most iconic performance badges and ushering in a new era for the GTi lineage.

The reveal comes exactly one year after PEUGEOT introduced the E-208 GTi concept ahead of the 2025 Le Mans race. Following a strong response from enthusiasts and customers, the French automaker has now transformed that vision into a production-ready model that remains remarkably faithful to the original concept.

The launch also coincides with a major milestone for PEUGEOT. The company is celebrating 100 years since its first participation in the legendary endurance race, using the world-famous Le Mans stage to showcase its latest performance-focused electric vehicle.

A New Chapter for the GTi Legacy

For more than four decades, the GTi badge has represented driving excitement, agile handling, and accessible performance. Models such as the legendary Peugeot 205 GTi helped establish the nameplate as one of the most respected in the hot hatch segment.

The new E-208 GTi carries that heritage into the electric age. Built on the success of the popular Peugeot 208 lineup, the all-electric hot hatch combines performance, technology, and everyday usability while staying true to the spirit that made GTi models famous.

According to PEUGEOT, the E-208 GTi has been conceived and developed in France through a collaboration between PEUGEOT Sport and PEUGEOT Design. The result is a vehicle designed to deliver engaging driving dynamics while embracing the advantages of electric mobility.

Inspired by French Performance and Design

The production E-208 GTi retains the sporty and elegant styling showcased by the concept vehicle. To celebrate the launch, PEUGEOT is displaying three production models in blue, white, and red—colors that reflect the brand’s French heritage and character.

The design combines athletic proportions with modern details, creating a distinctive look that sets the GTi apart from the standard E-208 range. PEUGEOT says the model has been developed to offer a unique blend of driving pleasure, everyday versatility, and advanced technology.

Peugeot’s First Fully Electric GTi

The E-208 GTi represents a historic milestone as the first fully electric GTi ever produced by PEUGEOT. While the company is reserving full performance specifications for its official Le Mans press conference, it has already promised performance figures designed to impress enthusiasts and reinforce the GTi reputation.

By bringing the GTi badge into the EV era, PEUGEOT aims to demonstrate that electrification and driving enjoyment can go hand in hand. The new model signals the brand’s commitment to maintaining its performance heritage while embracing a zero-emission future.

Opening a New Era

The arrival of the Peugeot E-208 GTi marks more than just the launch of a new electric hatchback. It represents the rebirth of one of the automotive world’s most celebrated performance badges and highlights PEUGEOT’s determination to keep driving pleasure at the heart of its future products.

With its combination of electric power, sporty design, and GTi-inspired character, the E-208 GTi is set to become a key model in PEUGEOT’s expanding EV lineup and a significant step in the evolution of the GTi story.
