BYD Delivers 50 Electric Vans to the Bahamas

BYD announced its first large-scale delivery of EVs in the Caribbean electric vehicle market, recently delivering 50 T3 pure electric vans to Nassau, capital of the Bahamas.

Partnering with leading car dealership Easy Car Sales Ltd (ECS), BYD will introduce more efficient and sustainable pure EVs into this beautiful Caribbean country.

Acting as a BYD representative in this market, Sales Manager of BYD America Auto Sales Division Neva Zhang signed an agreement with the Director of Easy Car Sales, John Farmer, for a deal that includes BYD’s wide range of products covering sedans to SUVs, as well as after-sales support. Since becoming BYD’s distributor, ECS has received almost 100 orders for BYD EVs, such as T3, e5, M3, Yuan EV, Tang EV, and more.

Established in 2009, ECS has now became the first pure EV dealership in the Bahamas (only refers to new car dealership, since used car is excluded). World-leading logistics company, DHL, has also purchased 6 units of T3 for their delivery fleet in the Bahamas.

The Bahamas, located in the Caribbean Sea, is widely known worldwide for its beautiful seas and beaches. All the untouched, idyllic islands in this country make it an ideal place for EVs. Along with this reputable distributor, BYD is establishing stellar reputation and expects to see a growing market for its high quality, emissions-free solutions in the future.

As BYD’s debut in the Caribbean region, and a brand new market in wider Latin America, the alliance of BYD and Easy Car Sales could be seen as a catalyst for electromobility in the Bahamas. It is believed that this could kickstart a sustainable and eco-friendly business that marks the beginning of a more green technological change at the national level.
