Peugeot Showcases The Future Of Electric Vehicles At Milan Design Week

PEUGEOT will be giving visitors to the 2019 Milan Design Week a glimpse into the brand’s electric future, with features including a spectacular light display, a pride of PEUGEOT lion ambassadors, and a selection of innovative new models that have started PEUGEOT’s electric transition.

An impressive five metre tall electrified Lion sculpture will come covered in flowing green and blue dichroic graphics, standing among a collection of 40 one metre tall lion models. The immersive Lion sculpture was created by the PEUGEOT Design Lab to mark the 160th anniversary of the PEUGEOT emblem in 2018, and now stands as a showcase for the styling cues of the upcoming electric vehicle (EV) range.

The exciting PEUGEOT e-LEGEND CONCEPT will be one of the EVs on display in Milan. Unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show the PEUGEOT e-LEGEND Concept was the first look at PEUGEOT’s ambitions for an electric future. With a design inspired by the retro PEUGEOT 504 coupé, the PEUGEOT e-LEGEND taps into the brand’s sporting heritage while presenting a sleek and stylish vision of the future of electric vehicles.

Powered by a 100% electric powertrain, with 100 kWh batteries providing 800 Nm torque and 340 Kw power, allowing a range of up to 372 miles, the PEUGEOT e-LEGEND Concept is capable of reaching 0-62 mph in less than 4s and a maximum speed of 136 mph.

The PEUGEOT e-LEGEND Concept is designed to provide drivers with an immersive experience with top of the range tech at their fingers tips, through the aid of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®, AI technology voice activated personal assistant through SOUNDHOUND Inc.® and premium FOCAL® Sound system.

Joining the PEUGEOT e-LEGEND Concept will be the all-new PEUGEOT 208 and e-208, the first model from PEUGEOT’s new generation of fully electric vehicles. The all-new PEUGEOT e-208 comes with a 100kW electric motor and 50kWh battery, producing a range of up to 211 miles according to WLTP procedures.

Following the design of the energised PEUGEOT lion, the electric variant of the all-new PEUGEOT 208 comes with a dichroic emblem which changes colour when viewed from different angles and a body-coloured chequered front grille. The exterior builds on the model’s sporty nature, with body-coloured chequered front grille and full LED three-claw headlight signature on front and rear (depending on spec).

The all-new PEUGEOT e-208 and 208 provide motorists with the latest intelligent driver aids and ‘jump in’ next generation technology including the new PEUGEOT 3D i-Cockpit® and a 7 or 10” capacitive colour touchscreen.

PEUGEOT will also be presenting its latest electric designs for two-wheeled transport at Milan, with a range of new PEUGEOT Cycles. The range includes the electric folding eF01 bike, retro-inspired LU01 and eLC01 ‘e-LEGEND’.

Like its four-wheeled namesake, the eLC01 ‘e-LEGEND’ bike demonstrates the latest advances PEUGEOT has made in its transition towards electric, with a 400Wh battery providing a range of up to 43 miles, all packed into a compact and stylish frame.

The announcement of the all-new PEUGEOT 208, e-208 and PEUGEOT e-LEGEND Concept car comes ahead of ambitions to provide an electrified version of its entire range by 2023, falling in line with the brand’s new #UnBoringTheFuture goal, and recently introduced signature marking PEUGEOT’s intentions to focus on EV: ‘MOTION & e-MOTION’.
