Hyundai joins the Go Ultra Low consortium

Hyundai has joined Volkswagen, Audi, Kia, Nissan, Renault, Toyota and BMW in the UK’s Go Ultra Low consortium.

Ultra low emission vehicles are become increasingly popular in the UK, and this move indicates another manufacturer’s willingness to invest in its electric vehicles.

Hyundai joins the campaign at an exciting time for electric motoring, as the total number of EVs on UK roads is expected to surpass 100,000 by the middle of this year. 2016 was a record year for registrations, with numbers up 29% on 2015, and this growth is set to continue.

Hyundai’s IONIQ electric and the innovative ix35 hydrogen fuel cell vehicle expand the variety of ultra low emission vehicles available in the UK.

Today, there are more than 35 plug-in models (covering fully electric, plug-in hybrid and hydrogen-powered) on the UK market – four times the number on the market just five years ago.
