POD Point Offers Free Home Charging Points in UK

POD Point, the UK’s leading electric vehicle charging company is offering free home charging units to electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle owners in East Anglia, the East and West Midlands.

The POD Point charge point is the Solo 2, the latest ‘smart’ communicating charge point, with in-built GPRS technology that allows two way communications between the charge point an online account, enabling electric and plug-in vehicle drivers to monitor how much energy they use, remotely lock the charge point or set charging schedules from a laptop, PC or mobile phone.

The POD Point charge points will be installed using a grant from the government’s Plugged-In Places scheme, and the offer is available to electric or plug-in vehicle owners in Source East and Plugged-in Midlands regions.

The offer is available to electric and hybrid vehicle owners in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire, Essex, Herefordshire, Hertfordshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Suffolk, Telford & Wrekin, Warwickshire, West Midlands, and Worcestershire.

The fully installed charge point is worth over £1,000, can be installed in the home or workplace, and is subject to a free site survey.

To apply, email POD Point sales@pod-point.com, or phone 0207 247 4114 with the requested installation address.

Free charging for Londoners

POD Point said electric and plug-in car owners living within the M25 are also eligible for a free charging unit under a different scheme being offered in partnership with UK Power Networks called the Low Carbon London electric vehicle usage trial.
