
Mitsubishi Motors Europe is expanding the electric Eclipse Cross lineup with two battery updates designed to give buyers more choice in range, charging performance and price.
Starting in November 2026, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross BEV will be available with a new 67 kWh LFP battery for customers seeking a more affordable electric SUV, while the existing long-range version will receive an upgraded 89 kWh NMC battery.
Both versions produce 220 horsepower, support AC charging at up to 22 kW and can tow up to 1,100 kg. Mitsubishi says the different battery options are intended to accommodate different driving needs without reducing the vehicle’s core capabilities.
New 67 kWh LFP Battery Targets Affordable EV Buyers
The new 67 kWh battery is aimed primarily at drivers who spend most of their time in urban and suburban areas but still want enough range for longer trips.
Using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology, the battery provides up to 472 km of WLTP range. DC fast charging from 15% to 80% takes approximately 24 minutes, with a peak charging rate of 165 kW.
The battery can also support 11 kW and 22 kW AC charging, giving owners additional flexibility when charging at home or at compatible public charging stations.
The new battery option should make the Eclipse Cross EV more accessible to buyers who do not need the maximum possible range and would rather prioritize purchase price and everyday usability.
Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross EV Gets More Range With 89 kWh Battery
At the other end of the lineup, Mitsubishi is upgrading the long-range Eclipse Cross with a new 89 kWh NMC battery.
The new pack replaces the previous 87 kWh battery and increases the SUV’s maximum WLTP range from 635 km to up to 650 km. That extra range could make the long-range Eclipse Cross particularly appealing to drivers who regularly travel longer distances and want fewer charging stops.
Charging performance has also been improved. Mitsubishi says the new battery can charge from 15% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes using DC fast charging, up to nine minutes faster than the previous battery.
The 89 kWh version supports a peak DC charging power of 150 kW and can also use 11 kW or 22 kW AC charging.
Despite the different battery technology and capacity, the long-range model retains the same 220-hp output and 1,100-kg towing capacity.
Two Battery Options Give the Eclipse Cross EV More Flexibility
The updated Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross BEV lineup takes a straightforward approach to one of the biggest decisions facing EV buyers: how much battery and range are actually needed.
The 67 kWh LFP version focuses on affordability and everyday driving, offering up to 472 km of WLTP range. The 89 kWh NMC model is designed for drivers who place a higher priority on maximum range and frequent long-distance travel.
Offering two battery choices could also help Mitsubishi compete more effectively in Europe’s increasingly crowded electric SUV market, where buyers are looking beyond range alone and comparing purchase price, charging speed, practicality and running costs.
Both versions retain the same 220-hp power output, AC charging capability and towing capacity, meaning choosing the smaller battery does not result in a significant compromise in vehicle functionality.
Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross EV Warranty and Service Coverage
The Eclipse Cross BEV will also come with Mitsubishi’s Service Commitment in Europe.
The standard coverage includes a five-year/100,000-km factory warranty, followed by up to three additional years of conditional extended coverage. This can provide total coverage of up to eight years or 160,000 km.
Mitsubishi also provides a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty and an eight-year/160,000-km warranty for the traction battery.
Roadside assistance is included for up to eight years through the Mitsubishi Assistance Package, with the final three years subject to the conditions of the extended warranty coverage.
Mitsubishi Expands Its Electric SUV Strategy
The introduction of the 67 kWh battery and upgraded 89 kWh pack gives the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross EV a broader range of options as the European EV market continues to mature.
For buyers focused on everyday urban and suburban driving, the 67 kWh LFP battery provides a potentially more accessible entry point while still delivering substantial range. Meanwhile, the 89 kWh battery pushes the Eclipse Cross further into long-distance EV territory with up to 650 km of WLTP range.
Both versions are scheduled to become available in Europe from November 2026.
