Xiaomi EV April Deliveries Top 30,000 as Growth Momentum Returns

Xiaomi’s electric vehicle division posted a strong rebound in April, delivering more than 30,000 vehicles and marking a sharp increase from the 21,440 units recorded in March. The result signals renewed momentum after a volatile first quarter and reinforces the company’s growing presence in China’s competitive EV market.

As is typical, Xiaomi confirmed the milestone via its official Weibo account without disclosing an exact delivery figure. Even so, the jump in volume highlights strengthening demand across its expanding lineup.

YU7 SUV Continues to Anchor Sales

A major driver behind April’s performance was the sustained popularity of the YU7 electric SUV. Since its launch in June 2025, the model has quickly become a core product for Xiaomi, reaching cumulative deliveries of 231,000 units within just ten months.

Positioned as a direct rival to the Tesla Model Y, the YU7 has benefited from strong consumer interest in mid-size electric SUVs, a segment that continues to dominate EV adoption trends in China. Its consistent delivery pace has provided Xiaomi with a stable foundation during periods of broader market fluctuation.

SU7 Gains Traction Following Launch

Alongside the YU7, Xiaomi’s new-generation SU7 sedan is beginning to play a more significant role in overall sales. Officially launched on March 19, the SU7 saw initial deliveries start just four days later, underscoring the company’s rapid rollout strategy.

Early demand has been robust. Locked-in orders surpassed 30,000 units at launch and climbed to 60,000 by April 24, coinciding with the opening of the 2026 Beijing Auto Show. Cumulative deliveries have already reached 26,000 units, signaling a strong ramp-up phase that is expected to continue in the coming months.

Next Growth Catalyst: YU7 GT

Looking ahead, Xiaomi is preparing to expand its EV portfolio further with the introduction of the YU7 GT. The high-performance variant of its electric SUV is scheduled for launch at the end of May and is expected to attract buyers seeking more power and premium features.

The addition of the YU7 GT could provide another boost to Xiaomi’s delivery figures, particularly as competition intensifies among both domestic automakers and global players.

Outlook

April’s delivery surge suggests Xiaomi EV is regaining its footing after a slower start to the year. With the YU7 maintaining strong demand, the SU7 scaling production, and the YU7 GT on the horizon, the company appears well-positioned to sustain growth momentum into the second half of 2026.

As Xiaomi continues to expand its lineup and production capacity, its performance will be closely watched as an indicator of how new entrants can compete in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle landscape.
