Chinese premium new energy vehicles maker DENZA officially launches as a global brand, unveiling its first international models at a high-profile debut in Paris.
Backed by BYD, the technology-focused marque aims to reshape the European premium segment with a blend of advanced engineering and design-led innovation.
The global premiere, hosted at the iconic Palais Garnier, introduced two flagship models—the Z9GT and D9 DM-i—marking DENZA’s official expansion beyond China and into key international markets.
Technology-Driven Premium Strategy
Guided by the philosophy “Technology Drives Elegance,” DENZA positions itself as a new kind of premium brand—one where innovation defines luxury. The company focuses exclusively on new-energy powertrains, combining fully electric and plug-in hybrid systems with advanced features such as ultra-fast charging and rear-wheel steering technologies.
With the backing of BYD’s vast engineering resources, DENZA aims to deliver a seamless ownership experience centered on performance, efficiency, and intelligent mobility solutions.
DENZA Z9GT: High-Performance Shooting Brake
Leading the lineup is the DENZA Z9GT, a flagship shooting brake that blends sports car styling with everyday practicality. Available in both all-electric and plug-in hybrid variants, the model challenges traditional grand tourers with cutting-edge performance.
Powered by an advanced tri-motor system, the Z9GT accelerates from 0–62 mph in just 2.7 seconds (EV version). Its standout feature—independent rear-wheel steering—enables extreme maneuverability, including tight “compass turns” and lateral “crab walking” in confined spaces.

Inside, the Z9GT emphasizes digital immersion with a 50-inch augmented-reality head-up display, a 17.3-inch floating infotainment screen, and dual 13.2-inch displays for driver and passenger interaction.
DENZA D9 DM-i: Premium Electric MPV
Complementing the Z9GT is the DENZA D9 DM-i, a premium MPV designed for comfort and versatility. The spacious cabin accommodates up to seven adults alongside significant luggage capacity, targeting both family and executive transport needs.

Its DM-i plug-in hybrid system delivers all-wheel drive, up to 130 miles of pure-electric range, and a total range of approximately 590 miles. This combination positions the D9 as a compelling option for both urban driving and long-distance travel.
Immersive Audio and In-Car Experience
Both models benefit from a collaboration with Devialet, bringing high-end sound systems enhanced by Dolby Atmos.
With up to 20 speakers in the Z9GT and 16 in the D9, the setups deliver a highly immersive audio experience with precise sound placement and enhanced clarity.
Ultra-Fast FLASH Charging Expansion
A key pillar of DENZA’s European strategy is the rollout of its proprietary FLASH Charging technology. Built on BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, the system supports charging speeds of up to 1500 kW.
This enables rapid charging benchmarks, including 10% to 70% in just five minutes and near-full charging in under 10 minutes under optimal conditions. Even in extreme cold, charging performance remains highly efficient.
To support this capability, DENZA plans to deploy 6,000 FLASH charging stations outside China within 12 months, including 3,000 across Europe.
European Rollout and Global Expansion
DENZA’s initial European rollout will target major markets including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the UK, with plans to expand into at least 30 countries by the end of the year. The company aims to establish around 150 retail locations across the region by 2026.
Beyond Europe, DENZA has already established a presence in Latin America, with retail operations in Brazil and Mexico enabling early customer orders.
A New Challenger in the Premium EV Market
By combining BYD’s scale with a refined brand identity and advanced technology, DENZA enters the global stage as a serious contender in the premium EV space. With its focus on performance, innovation, and ultra-fast charging infrastructure, the brand is positioned to accelerate the adoption of next-generation electric mobility worldwide.
