2026 Volvo EX60 Electric SUV Opens for Orders in Canada

The Volvo EX60 marks a major step forward in the electrification strategy of Volvo Cars, entering the highly competitive mid-size electric SUV segment with a strong focus on efficiency, safety, and advanced technology.

Now available for order in Canada, the five-seat EX60 combines long range, rapid charging, and next-generation user experience.

Built on a New EV Architecture

At the core of the EX60 is Volvo’s new SPA3 electric vehicle platform, paired with the advanced HuginCore computing system. This combination enables improved scalability, faster processing, and enhanced vehicle intelligence.

Key engineering highlights include:

– Cell-to-body battery integration for better energy density
– Next-generation in-house electric motors
– Lightweight mega casting for structural efficiency
– New battery cell design for improved range and durability

These innovations contribute to a more efficient and lighter electric SUV, helping maximize driving range while maintaining strong performance.

Range, Performance and Charging

The EX60 P10 AWD variant delivers an estimated range of up to 514 km, positioning it competitively within its segment. Designed for everyday usability, it balances performance with efficiency.
Charging capability is another standout feature: 10% to 80% in as little as 18 minutes (DC fast charging).

This rapid charging time helps reduce downtime and makes long-distance electric driving significantly more practical.

Scandinavian Design Meets Aerodynamic Efficiency

The EX60 reflects Volvo’s modern Scandinavian design philosophy, adapted for the electric era. Its aerodynamic profile plays a key role in efficiency, with a drag coefficient of 0.26.

Exterior highlights include:

– Low front fascia for improved airflow
– Sloping roofline for reduced drag
– Tapered body sides enhancing aerodynamics

Inside, the long wheelbase and flat floor create a spacious cabin with generous rear legroom and flexible storage. Premium natural materials add to the refined and minimalist interior atmosphere.

Next-Generation Infotainment and AI Integration

Technology is a defining aspect of the EX60. Powered by HuginCore, the SUV features a responsive infotainment system with Google built-in.

Notably, it becomes the first Volvo model to integrate Gemini, enabling more natural and personalized voice interactions.

Additional tech features include Apple Music with Dolby Atmos, available 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins premium sound system, fully digital driver display and large central touchscreen.

Advanced Safety at the Core

Safety remains central to Volvo’s identity, and the EX60 introduces new innovations under the Volvo Cars Safety Standard.

Enabled by advanced sensors and core computing, the EX60 continuously monitors its surroundings to help protect occupants and others on the road. It also introduces Volvo Cars’ multi-adaptive safety belt, designed to provide smarter, more personalized protection for front-seat occupants. Like all new Volvo cars, the EX60 will improve over time through regular over-the-air software updates.

Trim Levels and Pricing in Canada

Canadian buyers can choose between two well-equipped trims:

EX60 Plus

The entry-level Volvo EX60 Plus is a well-equipped five-passenger fully electric SUV that introduces customers to the next generation Volvo electric experience. This model features Google built-in with Gemini AI assistant, a large central touchscreen, a fully digital driver display, advanced connectivity including Apple CarPlay, a premium sound system, heated seats, advanced driver assistance systems, and the Volvo Cars Safety Standard suite of active and passive safety technologies.

Starting price: $77,500 (before fees and taxes)

EX60 Ultra

The Volvo EX60 Ultra builds on the Plus package with a full suite of premium features and technologies. This model adds a Bowers & Wilkins premium audio system with headrest speakers, a panoramic roof, upgraded interior materials, ventilated front seats, advanced parking assistance, additional driver support technologies, and unique design details. The Ultra package represents the most advanced and luxurious expression of the EX60.

Starting price: $84,000 (before fees and taxes)

Availability

The 2026 Volvo EX60 is now open for online orders in Canada through Volvo’s One Price Promise program, offering transparent pricing and a streamlined purchase experience.

The EX60 positions itself as a serious contender in the electric SUV segment, combining competitive range, ultra-fast charging, and cutting-edge software integration. With its focus on safety, Scandinavian design, and intelligent technology, it represents the next phase of Volvo’s electric transformation.
