Renault Launches Plug Inn to Unify Its EV Charging Ecosystem Across Europe

Renault Group is entering a new phase in its electric mobility strategy by consolidating all charging-related activities under a single, unified brand: Plug Inn.

The move aims to simplify the EV charging experience while strengthening the Group’s infrastructure to support the rapid expansion of zero-emission mobility across Europe.

A Unified Charging Ecosystem for Simplicity and Scale

Previously managed under Mobilize Beyond Automotive, Renault’s charging services are now fully integrated into its core commercial operations. This strategic shift improves operational efficiency, enhances clarity for customers, and ensures a more cohesive approach to EV charging.

Under the Plug Inn banner, Renault brings together three key solutions:

– Plug Inn fast charge: An ultra-fast charging network
– Plug Inn powerbox: A bidirectional charging solution with Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capabilities
– Plug Inn charge pass: A single payment system offering access to charging across Europe

The new branding reflects both function and experience. “Plug” directly references electric charging, while “Inn” evokes comfort, service, and accessibility—an intentional nod to hospitality-inspired convenience.

Fast-Charging Network Rebranded Starting April

The first visible step in this transition is the rebranding of the Mobilize fast charge network to Plug Inn fast charge, beginning in April. Originally launched in 2023, the network is built around ultra-high-power chargers delivering up to 320 kW.

This enables compatible EVs to recover up to 400 km of range in approximately 15 minutes—positioning it among the fastest charging solutions currently available in Europe.

The network has already gained recognition in the Chargemap rankings for:

– High reliability
– Strong user experience
– Consistent territorial coverage

Backed by hundreds of thousands of user reviews, these rankings reinforce the network’s growing reputation among EV drivers.

Expansion Plans and Strategic Locations

Renault has set a target of 93 charging stations by the end of 2026, further strengthening coverage across key travel corridors.

Plug Inn fast charge stations are strategically located:

– At Renault dealerships
– Near major highways and transport routes
– In accessible, high-visibility locations

Importantly, the network is open to all electric vehicle brands, supporting broader EV adoption beyond Renault’s own lineup.

Premium Charging Experience Designed for Drivers

Plug Inn stations are designed to offer the simplest, most comfortable and most reliable charging experience possible, both for everyday use and long-distance travel: reliability above 99%, 24/7 maintenance, Plug & Charge compatibility, premium lounges at selected sites (secure, accessible 24/7, with Wi-Fi, restrooms, coffee, workspaces and relaxation areas).

In addition, Renault emphasizes transparent and competitive pricing, particularly for its customers, helping remove friction from the EV ownership experience.

Accelerating Europe’s Electric Future

With Plug Inn, Renault Group is not just rebranding—it is establishing a scalable, standardized charging ecosystem designed to accelerate EV adoption across Europe. By focusing on reliability, accessibility, and service quality, the company aims to make electric mobility more practical and appealing for a wider audience.

As the transition to electric vehicles continues to gain momentum, initiatives like Plug Inn highlight the growing importance of integrated, user-friendly charging infrastructure in shaping the future of transportation.
