March 2017 plug-in sales in The Netherlands and Finland

The Netherlands have registered 822 plug-in passenger cars last month, down 30% Year-on-Year.

The Tesla Model S was #1 with 228 units, the Nissan Leaf was second with 152 registrations and the Tesla Model X third, with 140, followed by the new Hyundai Ioniq Electric and BMW i3 with 89 and 80 deliveries respectively.

Looking at the Year-to-Date ranking, the Tesla Model S is in leadership, with 446 units, the Nissan Leaf is second with 294 units, while the BMW i3 is in third place with 238 units, with the fourth placed Tesla Model X not far behind, with 228 registrations.

In the manufacturers ranking, Tesla is in the lead (33% share, up 8%), displacing Nissan (15%, up 2%), now followed by BMW (13%, down 2%).

Meanwhile, the plug-in vehicle market in Finland registered 218 plug-in cars last month, down 74% compared to February, but up 52% on a Year-to-date basis.

The Mercedes GLC350e was the best-selling plug-in vehicle for the second time in a row last month, with a record 67 deliveries, followed by the surprising Nissan Leaf, registering 21 units, its best result in over a year, and the Audi Q7 e-Tron, with 16.

In the Year-to-date ranking, the German SUV has cemented its leadership (124 units), followed by two other plug-in hybrid SUVs: The second placed Volvo XC90 PHEV (56) and the third placed Audi Q7 e-Tron (54).
