Eaton Launches Dual Electric Vehicle Charging Station

Eaton-Dual-Electric-Vehicle-Charging-Station_1Power management company Eaton announced the release of Dual AC Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations for simultaneous charging of two electric vehicles.

The stations can charge electric vehicles up to three times faster than traditional charging systems to offer a cost-effective solution for residential, commercial and fleet electric vehicle operations. The solution is designed to help customers realize substantial cost savings by reducing the need to purchase, install and maintain multiple charging stations.

The Dual AC Level 2 charging stations are available in multiple power output configurations, and in ergonomic aluminum pedestal and wall mount designs for simplified use and installation.

The charging stations also meet the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA®) 3R rating for reliable indoor and outdoor installations, and include an integral ground fault monitoring system with an automatic reset function to protect connected equipment from potential power disruptions. The feature builds upon the proven effectiveness of Eaton ground fault circuit interruption technology, which has been implemented in the residential housing industry for more than 20 years.

A removable device panel on the chargers and standard interior layout simplifies on-site upgradeability for access control, payment options, data acquisition and networking. For example, customized management can be achieved through integration into a building’s existing system via standard Modbus® RTU, enabling the station owner to receive usage statistics and manage deployment of charging stations remotely.

Eaton Dual AC Level 2 charging stations support the existing Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) J1772 protocol and are compatible with the ChargePoint, Greenlots SKY and Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) Networks to provide remote management, access control and payment options into one easy-to-manage system.
