BP Pulse Adds More Than 850 EV Charging Points to ChargeHub’s North American Network

BP Pulse has expanded access to its public EV charging network in the United States and Canada through a new partnership with ChargeHub, making more than 850 charging points available across over 95 locations through North America’s growing EV roaming ecosystem.

The integration connects BP Pulse to ChargeHub’s Passport Hub platform, allowing electric vehicle drivers to find, access, and pay for charging sessions through the ChargeHub app.

The chargers will also become accessible through other e-mobility service providers (eMSPs) and automakers already connected to the roaming platform.

The move is expected to make BP Pulse stations easier to discover while reducing the need for drivers to download multiple charging apps and create separate accounts for different networks.

ChargeHub’s Passport Hub is designed to connect charging networks with third-party mobility platforms and automakers through a single roaming infrastructure. Instead of requiring drivers to register with every charging provider individually, the system allows participating networks to become accessible through apps and services they already use.

For BP Pulse, joining the platform increases the visibility and accessibility of its North American charging infrastructure. The integration includes more than 850 charging points spread across over 95 BP Pulse locations.

Drivers using the ChargeHub app can locate participating stations, check charging availability, and pay for their sessions. Users of other connected eMSPs and automaker services can also gain access to BP Pulse chargers through their existing platforms.

However, the announcement does not clarify whether all 850 charging points will be available through every Passport Hub partner.

The integration is particularly relevant as public fast-charging networks continue expanding across North America. Having multiple charging operators accessible through a single platform can make long-distance EV travel more convenient, especially for drivers who regularly cross different charging networks.

BP Pulse operates a mix of DC fast chargers with different power outputs and connector options across its US network.

Its charging infrastructure includes 150 kW Tritium units, 180 kW ABB dispensers, and high-powered 400 kW Alpitronic chargers. Connector availability varies by location, with CCS1 being the primary standard, alongside NACS and some CHAdeMO connections.

The company also offers on-site credit card payment at its stations, meaning drivers do not necessarily need a smartphone app to start a charging session. Plug & Charge functionality is available at selected locations, although vehicle compatibility and charger availability are limited.

Pricing varies depending on the station, with reported rates ranging from approximately $0.33 to $0.65 per kWh.

The ChargeHub integration adds another way to access the network, giving drivers more flexibility when planning charging stops.

The partnership also represents an important addition to ChargeHub’s Passport Hub ecosystem.

ChargeHub connects dozens of charging operators and mobility service providers across the United States and Canada. Its broader network includes access to services associated with major charging companies such as Tesla, IONNA, and Electrify America.

By connecting through Passport Hub, BP Pulse can make its charging infrastructure available to multiple roaming partners through a single technical integration and commercial agreement.

This approach could also simplify network expansion for charging operators. Rather than establishing individual integrations with every eMSP or automaker, participating companies can connect through a centralized roaming platform.

ChargeHub CEO Simon Ouellette said the addition of BP Pulse demonstrates the growing importance of hub-based roaming in North America.

“When a network like bp pulse chooses to connect through Passport Hub, it’s a strong signal that the hub model has become the way roaming gets done in North America,” Ouellette explained.

He added that the integration benefits the wider ecosystem because automakers and eMSPs connected to Passport Hub can offer their customers access to BP Pulse chargers through existing services.
