All major automakers are posting May sales numbers for plug-in electric vehicles.

 | Nissan LEAF Sales of the all-electric Nissan LEAF finished May at 2,138, up 319.2 percent over last year and marking the second-best month ever for LEAF. Since the March launch of the 2013 LEAF, with vehicle and battery assembly in Smyrna, Tenn., Nissan has sold 6,311 LEAF vehicles, up 332.6 percent over the same period in 2012. The total number for the year now stands at 7,614. |
 | Chevrolet Volt The Chevrolet Volt sold 1,607 units in May, down 4% compared to the same month in 2012. The Chevrolet Volt sold 1,306 units in April and 1,478 plug-ins in March. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the Chevrolet Volt now stand at 7,157 units. |
 | Toyota Prius Plug-in Deliveries of the Toyota Prius Plug-In were 678 units in May, down 37.6 % from May 2012′s 1,086. In April 2013 Prius Plug-In sold 559 units. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the Toyota Prius Plug-in now stand at 3,630 units, down 0.6% year-on-year. |
 | Ford C-Max Energi Ford sold 450 C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrids in May, up from 411 in March. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the C-MAX Energi now stand at 2,207 units. |
 | Ford Fusion Energi Ford sold an all-time high of 416 Fusion Energi plug-in hybrids, up from 365 units in April. The Fusion Energi went on sale at the end of February, and managed to sell 119 units in that month. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the Ford Fusion Energi stand at 1,194 units. |
 | Tesla Model S – No Sales Data to Report Tesla does not report monthly sales like every other automaker. We estimate between 2,200 to 2,500 Model S sedans sold in April. The big news in plug-in car sales for March was Tesla’s announcement that Model S sales exceeded 4,750 units from January through March. |
 | Ford Focus Electric Deliveries of the Ford Focus Electric were 157 in May, up from 147 units in April. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the Ford Focus Electric now stand at 723 units. |
 | Mitsubishi i Sales of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric car in May were 91, down from 127 units in April. The number brings the year-to-date total to 843 units. |
 | Honda Fit EV Honda reported selling just 15 units of the Fit EV in May, down from 22 units in April. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the Fit EV stand at 83 units. Like the Nissan Leaf, the Fiat 500e and the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV, Honda announced a low mileage lease on all-electric Fit EV for $259 per month beginning June 1. |
 | Toyota RAV4 EV Toyota RAV4 EV sold 84 electric SUVs, up 70 units in April 2013. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the Toyota RAV4 EV now stand at 366 units, 133 of those in March. |
 | Honda Accord Plug-in The 2014 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid logged 58 units last month. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales 2014 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid now stand at 158 units. |
 | Smart Fortwo Electric Drive The smart fortwo electric drive went on sale on May-15 with starting price of $25,000, while the cabriolet is priced at $28,000 before federal credits. smart fortwo electric drive had a decent star with 60 electric cars sold during the month. The third generation smart fortwo electric drive features 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides enough energy to cover a range of 90 miles. |
 | Fiat 500e – Going on sale in July FIAT Brand North America announced official pricing details of the 2013 Fiat 500e electric vehicle as it launches in the Golden State this July. The 2013 Fiat 500e is priced at $32,500, which includes a $700 destination charge. However, eligible California residents may be able to purchase the 2013 Fiat 500e for as low as $20,500, after federal credits. |
 | Chevrolet Spark EV – Going on sale this month The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV goes on sale this month in California and Oregon. The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV is certified by the EPA at combined city/highway 119 MPGe fuel economy equivalent. The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV will achieve an EPA rated range of 82 miles of city and highway driving at full charge. MSRP for the 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV 1LT starts at $27,495 – as low as $19,995 net of the full federal tax credit which ranges from $0 to $7,500 – and includes $810 destination freight charge. |
