DENZA BAO 5 UK Price, Specs and Range Confirmed

DENZA has officially opened UK order books for the new BAO 5, confirming pricing and specifications for its first SUV in Britain. The premium technology-focused model arrives with a choice of two highly equipped trim levels, combining plug-in hybrid performance, advanced off-road capability and a luxury-focused cabin.

The BAO 5 starts from £69,500 in Elegance specification, while the flagship Ultimate model is priced from £78,880.

DENZA BAO 5 Elegance

The entry-level Elegance trim comes with an extensive list of standard equipment designed to deliver both everyday comfort and serious off-road capability.

A 15.6-inch central infotainment display with Google built-in forms the centrepiece of the dashboard, complemented by dedicated digital displays for both the driver and front passenger.

The cabin features leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, heated, ventilated and massage-equipped front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, 50W wireless smartphone charging and an 18-speaker Devialet premium sound system.

One of the BAO 5’s standout features is an integrated storage compartment capable of cooling contents between -6°C and 6°C, or heating them from 35°C to 50°C, making it useful for outdoor adventures and long-distance journeys alike.

Customers can choose from three interior colour schemes: Eclipse Blue, Shoal Green and Tarim Desert Beige.

On the outside, the Elegance rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and includes fixed side steps, integrated roof rails and seven exterior paint finishes. Snowy White is offered at no extra cost, while six premium paint options are available for an additional charge, including a matte Mineral Purple finish.

Ultimate Trim Adds Air Suspension and More Luxury

The BAO 5 Ultimate builds on the already generous equipment list with a number of premium upgrades.

Highlights include larger 20-inch alloy wheels, electrically deploying side steps, Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated rear seats and a second wireless smartphone charging pad.

The flagship model also introduces DiSus-P intelligent suspension, featuring adaptive air springs with continuous damping control and adjustable ride height. The system allows the body to be raised by up to 90mm or lowered by 50mm, helping the SUV tackle difficult terrain while also improving access and aerodynamics.

A self-levelling parking mode enables the BAO 5 to automatically level itself on uneven ground, providing a stable platform for camping or outdoor activities.

DMO Plug-in Hybrid Powertrain Delivers 544PS

Power comes from DENZA’s DMO (Dual Mode Off-road) plug-in hybrid system, engineered to combine electric performance with serious off-road capability.

Each axle is powered by its own electric motor. The front motor produces 272PS, while the rear develops 388PS, resulting in a combined system output of 544PS and 760Nm of torque.

A longitudinally mounted 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine primarily acts as a generator for the battery, although it can also drive the wheels directly when additional power is required.

The powertrain works alongside electronic front and rear differential locks, an intelligent energy centre lock capable of distributing torque between the axles significantly faster than a conventional mechanical system, and 16 selectable driving modes tailored to different road and off-road conditions.

Performance is impressive for a rugged SUV. The BAO 5 Elegance accelerates from 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds, while the Ultimate completes the sprint in 5.0 seconds.

Up to 62 Miles of Electric Driving

Electric power is supplied by a 31.8kWh Blade Battery integrated into the ladder-frame chassis.

The battery delivers up to 62 miles (100 km) of electric-only driving, making the BAO 5 suitable for many daily journeys without using petrol.

When recharging is required, DC fast charging at up to 100kW enables the battery to recharge from 30% to 80% in just 16 minutes.

Its generous standard specification and fast-charging capability further strengthen its appeal for buyers seeking a capable electrified SUV that balances everyday usability with adventure-ready performance.
