2027 Genesis GV60 Magma Priced from $69,950 in the U.S., Delivers Up to 641 HP

Genesis has announced U.S. pricing for the all-new 2027 Genesis GV60 Magma, marking the debut of the brand’s first dedicated high-performance production vehicle. Starting at $69,950 (MSRP), the electric crossover combines premium luxury with track-inspired engineering, introducing a new flagship performance model to the Genesis EV lineup.

Designed to elevate the driving experience, the GV60 Magma blends Genesis’ signature “Athletic Elegance” design language with substantial performance upgrades, advanced driving technologies, and a more aggressive exterior.

Performance-Focused EV with Up to 641 Horsepower

The 2027 GV60 Magma is powered by an upgraded dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing more than 600 horsepower in normal operation. Engaging Boost Mode temporarily raises output to 641 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, delivering stronger acceleration and enhanced responsiveness when maximum performance is required.

To complement the additional power, Genesis has revised the vehicle’s chassis with a wider, lower stance for improved stability. Exclusive 21-inch forged alloy wheels wrapped in wider performance tyres further enhance grip and handling.

Aerodynamic improvements also distinguish the Magma model from the standard GV60. These include redesigned front bumper canards, functional fender garnishes and breathers, plus a winglet-style rear spoiler that contributes to both styling and high-speed stability.

Exclusive Performance Technologies

Genesis has equipped the GV60 Magma with a range of performance-focused technologies designed to make driving more engaging while maintaining the refinement expected from a luxury EV.

Among the highlights are:

– Virtual Gear Shift (VGS): Simulates gear changes using virtual RPM, shift feedback, dedicated gear indicators and synchronized sound effects.
– GT Mode: Optimises the balance between power delivery, ride comfort and efficiency for spirited everyday driving.
– SPRINT Mode: Sharpens handling characteristics and power delivery for maximum performance.
– Launch Control: Maximises traction and acceleration during standing starts.
– Boost Mode: Temporarily unlocks the vehicle’s maximum power and torque output.
– Drift Mode: Enables controlled drifting while integrating Virtual Gear Shift and virtual sound effects for a more immersive experience.
– e-Active Sound Design Plus (e-ASD+): Generates performance-inspired audio through front and rear exterior speakers, featuring exclusive Magma sound profiles inspired by the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Together, these systems aim to deliver a driving experience that combines the instant torque of an electric powertrain with many of the sensations traditionally associated with high-performance combustion vehicles.

Distinctive Magma Design Inside and Out

The GV60 Magma receives several exclusive styling upgrades that clearly separate it from the standard model.

Customers can choose from four exterior finishes:

– Magma Orange
– Uyuni White
– Vik Black
– Makalu Gray Matte

Inside, the cabin introduces Genesis’ first dedicated performance bucket seats, finished in Obsidian Black suede with contrasting Magma Orange stitching.

The steering wheel features dedicated Boost and Magma Mode buttons, allowing drivers to access performance settings instantly. Magma-exclusive alloy pedals and a performance-oriented digital instrument cluster with bespoke infotainment graphics further reinforce the sporty character of the cabin.

U.S. Availability

Genesis says the 2027 GV60 Magma will begin arriving at select Genesis retailers in California, New York and New Jersey in the coming weeks. As the first model to wear the Magma badge, it signals the beginning of a new high-performance sub-brand that is expected to expand across the Genesis lineup in the future.

With more than 600 horsepower, premium craftsmanship and a comprehensive suite of performance technologies, the GV60 Magma positions itself as a compelling new contender in the growing market for luxury high-performance electric SUVs.
