Bolt, Pony.ai and Stellantis Launch Autonomous Mobility Pilot in Luxembourg

Bolt, Pony.ai and Stellantis have joined forces to launch a new autonomous mobility pilot program in Luxembourg, marking a significant step toward the future deployment of driverless transportation services across Europe.

The initiative will focus on testing and validating Pony.ai’s seventh-generation autonomous driving technology in real-world traffic conditions. Luxembourg’s supportive regulatory framework for autonomous vehicle testing provides an ideal environment for evaluating the safety, performance and operational readiness of the technology.

As part of the pilot, Stellantis will supply a midsize van built on its L4-Ready Platform, leveraging the automaker’s vehicle engineering and manufacturing expertise. The project is designed as a “living lab” that will examine every aspect of autonomous mobility operations, including vehicle deployment, ride-hailing integration, fleet management and coordination with regulatory authorities.

The collaboration combines the strengths of all three companies. Bolt contributes its ride-hailing platform and marketplace expertise, Pony.ai provides its advanced autonomous driving software and operational experience, while Stellantis delivers scalable vehicle platforms engineered for autonomous applications.

The partners are already preparing for pilot operations and aim to achieve driverless readiness by the conclusion of the program. The project also builds on previous collaborations announced by the companies to accelerate the development and commercialization of autonomous mobility solutions in Europe.

For Bolt, the Luxembourg pilot represents its first autonomous mobility testing program and an important milestone in its strategy to bring autonomous ride-hailing services to cities across Europe. The company intends to work with multiple technology partners as it expands autonomous transportation offerings in the future.

Pony.ai views Luxembourg as a strategic location for autonomous vehicle development due to its progressive approach to regulation and innovation. The company expects the pilot to provide valuable validation of its autonomous driving system in European traffic environments while supporting the responsible deployment of self-driving mobility services.

Meanwhile, Stellantis continues to advance its global autonomous driving ambitions through partnerships and the expansion of its L4-Ready Platform ecosystem. The automaker believes autonomous mobility can help make transportation more accessible, affordable and efficient for users while maintaining high safety standards.

As autonomous vehicle technology continues to mature, the Luxembourg pilot could serve as an important blueprint for future driverless mobility services across Europe. By combining advanced autonomous software, purpose-built vehicle platforms and a leading ride-hailing network, Bolt, Pony.ai and Stellantis are taking another step toward bringing self-driving transportation into everyday urban mobility.
