Skoda Enyaq and Elroq Gain AirConsole Gaming, Spotify and New Safety Features

Skoda is rolling out a significant infotainment and safety upgrade for its all-electric lineup, bringing new entertainment and real-time safety alerts to the Skoda Enyaq (software 4.0 and higher) and the all-new Skoda Elroq.

The update introduces AirConsole gaming, the Skoda Play video service, native Spotify integration, and an enhanced Traffication app with Emergency Vehicle Approaching alerts. Together, these features strengthen Skoda’s position in the competitive European EV market, where connected services and over-the-air capabilities are increasingly expected.

All media features are bundled in the Media Streaming Package, offered free of charge for the first three years in new vehicles.

AirConsole Turns Charging Stops into Game Time

Charging breaks just became more entertaining. Skoda is integrating AirConsole, a cloud-based gaming platform developed by N-Dream. The service launches with 15 games, including Tetris, available exclusively in Skoda vehicles.

When parked, the infotainment display becomes the gaming screen, while passengers use their smartphones as controllers. Both single-player and multiplayer modes are supported, and the vehicle’s sound system delivers immersive in-car audio.

Access requires a Skoda ID, an active MySkoda account, and an internet connection via smartphone. For safety reasons, gaming is strictly limited to when the vehicle is stationary — making it ideal for DC fast-charging sessions or waiting in the car.

With additional titles promised over time, this move mirrors a broader trend in the EV sector, where digital ecosystems are becoming a key differentiator.

Skoda Play Brings News and Learning Content On Board

The new Skoda Play service adds structured video streaming focused on news and educational programming.

Built using the 3Ready Automotive solution from 3SS, the platform integrates trusted international sources including: Euronews, NASA (via NASA+), CNN, Reuters and Bloomberg.

Content is tailored to user preferences and vehicle configuration, offering a personalized experience. As with gaming, video playback is available only when the vehicle is parked.

For EV drivers who frequently rely on public charging infrastructure across the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and other markets, these features make downtime more productive and engaging.

Native Spotify Integration – No Smartphone Required

In a major usability improvement, Spotify is now integrated directly into the infotainment system.

Drivers can log in with their existing accounts and stream music or podcasts using the vehicle’s data connection — without pairing a smartphone. The app is pre-installed, meaning access is immediate after signing in.

Unlike gaming and video services, Spotify remains accessible at any time, delivering seamless audio streaming whether commuting or on long-distance motorway trips.

Emergency Vehicle Approaching Alert Expands Safety Capabilities

Beyond infotainment, Skoda has enhanced safety through its Traffication app with a new Emergency Vehicle Approaching alert.

Developed in partnership with HAAS Alert and powered by its Safety Cloud platform, the system uses real-time data from emergency vehicles with activated warning lights. The Skoda backend processes this information and provides clear on-screen alerts showing distance and direction of travel.

Drivers also receive a visual animation guiding them on how to form an emergency corridor — a critical safety practice across Europe.

The cloud-based feature is already active in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The Czech Republic is next, and Skoda vehicles will be the first to support the function in Belgium.

For drivers in dense urban environments such as London, Amsterdam or Prague, this technology adds a valuable layer of situational awareness.

Smarter AI Route Planning in the MySkoda App

Skoda is also enhancing long-distance usability via updates to the MySkoda app’s AI-supported route planner.

New configuration options allow drivers to:

– Select charging stops near specific types of locations
– Limit charging to Powerpass stations
– Set a minimum battery level on arrival

These refinements provide greater flexibility and control, especially for cross-border European trips where infrastructure, pricing and charging networks vary.

Strengthening Skoda’s Digital EV Ecosystem

With these updates, Skoda continues to evolve its EVs beyond hardware specifications and range figures.

By combining interactive entertainment, seamless streaming and real-time safety alerts, the Enyaq and Elroq now offer a more competitive digital experience — particularly during the one scenario unique to EV ownership: charging time.

As automakers race to differentiate through software, Skoda’s latest upgrade underscores a clear direction — the electric vehicle is becoming as much a connected device as it is a mode of transport.
