2027 Genesis GV60 Magma Priced at $99,500 in Canada

Genesis has announced Canadian pricing for the 2027 GV60 Magma, marking the arrival of the luxury automaker’s first high-performance model. Priced at $99,500 CAD, including destination charges, the electric performance SUV combines more than 600 horsepower with exclusive driving technologies, aggressive styling and a premium interior.

The GV60 Magma represents a significant step in Genesis’ plans to expand its performance lineup. Based on the all-electric GV60, the Magma version receives substantial upgrades to its powertrain, chassis-focused design and cabin, positioning it as a more performance-oriented alternative in the luxury electric vehicle segment.

At the heart of the 2027 Genesis GV60 Magma is an upgraded dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing more than 600 horsepower. With Boost Mode activated, output increases to as much as 641 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque.

The additional power is accompanied by a series of performance technologies designed to make the electric SUV more engaging to drive. These include Virtual Gear Shift, GT Mode, SPRINT Mode, Launch Control, Boost Mode and Drift Mode.

Virtual Gear Shift (VGS) recreates the sensation of changing gears in a traditional performance vehicle. It uses virtual engine-speed technology, simulated shift feedback, visual gear indicators and coordinated sound effects to make acceleration feel more involving.

GT Mode focuses on balancing performance, comfort and efficiency during high-speed driving, while SPRINT Mode prioritizes power delivery and responsive handling. Launch Control optimizes torque delivery and wheel slip to maximize acceleration from a standstill.

Boost Mode temporarily increases power and torque, while Drift Mode introduces a dedicated setting for controlled drifting. Genesis has also developed an enhanced e-Active Sound Design Plus system that uses interior and exterior speakers to reproduce simulated performance sounds inspired by audio recorded at the Goodwood Festival.

Together, these technologies aim to give the GV60 Magma a more distinctive driving character than a conventional luxury electric SUV.

The GV60 Magma features a wider and lower stance than the standard GV60, giving it a more purposeful appearance. Genesis has introduced several aerodynamic enhancements, including front bumper canards, additional fender garnishes and breathers, and a winglet-style rear spoiler.

The SUV also rides on exclusive 21-inch forged alloy wheels paired with wider tires. The combination is designed to improve grip, stability and control, particularly during more demanding driving.

Buyers in Canada will be able to choose from four exterior finishes: Magma Orange, Uyuni White, Vik Black and Makalu Gray Matte. The signature Magma Orange finish is expected to be one of the most recognizable visual features of the new performance model.

Inside, the 2027 GV60 Magma introduces Genesis’ first performance bucket seats, finished in Obsidian Black suede with distinctive Magma Orange stitching.

Suede materials extend to several cabin touchpoints, including the door trims and centre-console armrest. Black decorative details, switches and other interior elements create a consistent performance-inspired atmosphere.

The seats feature exclusive quilting and layered stitching, while the familiar Genesis Crystal Sphere remains a central design feature on the centre console.

The steering wheel receives dedicated Boost and Magma Mode buttons, allowing drivers to quickly access the vehicle’s performance settings. Magma-specific alloy pedals and a three-circle performance display further distinguish the cabin from the standard GV60.

Genesis has confirmed an all-inclusive manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $99,500 CAD for the 2027 GV60 Magma in Canada. The price includes destination charges.

The company’s ownership package also includes several complimentary services designed to make the premium ownership experience more convenient. Every new Genesis vehicle sold in Canada comes with up to five years of scheduled maintenance, at-home valet service, 24/7 roadside assistance, Genesis Connected Services and a comprehensive warranty.

The 2027 Genesis GV60 Magma is expected to arrive at Canadian Genesis retailers by the end of November 2026.

With 641 horsepower available in Boost Mode, dedicated performance hardware and a starting price just below $100,000 CAD, the GV60 Magma gives Genesis a new entry into the high-performance electric vehicle market.

It also signals the brand’s ambition to compete more directly in the increasingly competitive luxury performance EV segment, where power, technology and driving character are becoming just as important as premium comfort and design.
