BYD Launches All-Electric SEAL Sports Sedan in Mexico

BYD officially introduced the BYD SEAL in Mexico, marking the second ocean-inspired model from BYD in the region since the launch of the BYD DOLPHIN in September.

The BYD SEAL, characterized by its sleek design, accentuates a sporty aesthetic and represents a further evolution of BYD’s ocean aesthetics.

In Mexico, BYD is offering two versions: the rear-wheel-drive variant is priced at 778,800 pesos (about 44,800 USD), while the four-wheel-drive version comes with a price tag of 888,800 pesos (about 52,800 USD).

The rear-wheel-drive model features a (201 horsepower) rear-mounted electric motor which is capable of 310 Nm peak torque and can accelerate to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. A 61.44-kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate (LFP) Blade battery pack enables a WLTP-rated range of 460 km (285 miles).

The all-wheel-drive version features two electric motors, reaching a total of 390 kW (529 hp), 670 Nm peak torque and can accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. A 82.56 kWh LFP Blade battery offers a range of 520 km (323 miles) according to WLTP.

Since officially entering the Mexican passenger car market in March of this year, BYD has introduced several new energy models, including the BYD HAN, TANG, and YUAN from the Dynasty series, as well as the BYD DOLPHIN and BYD SEAL from the Ocean series.
