Electrify Canada to provide EV charging for new VW e-Golf customers

Electrify Canada announced its latest step in advancing electric vehicle adoption with a new charging agreement with Volkswagen Canada. This agreement will provide 2020 VW e-Golf drivers with two years of complimentary 30-minute charging sessions.

Customers who purchased a 2020 Volkswagen e-Golf can enroll in and manage their charging plan through the newly launched Electrify Canada mobile app, available for Android and iPhone.

Drivers can then redeem 30-minute charging sessions at any charging station along the Electrify Canada network. The company plans to open a total of 32 EV charging stations with more than 128 chargers throughout Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia by the end of 2020.

“Our goal is to make EV adoption accessible to every driver and we are excited to be expanding our relationship with Volkswagen Canada,” said Robert Barrosa, chief operating officer of Electrify Canada. “Electrify Canada’s charging stations are designed to help EV drivers get to where they want to go – both with the speed of which they charge and strategic locations in convenient areas. This new charging plan serves as extra incentive for drivers to make the switch to electric.”

“We are positioning Volkswagen Canada to play a significant role as the auto industry moves forward with more electrified vehicles,” said Pierre Boutin, CEO of Volkswagen Canada. “Providing our customers with ample opportunities to charge their 2020 VW e-Golf will help them adopt electrified transportation for their daily travel.”

The design and capabilities of Electrify Canada’s EV chargers signal the company’s transformational leadership. The 150kW to 350kW chargers can service the longer range, larger battery vehicles coming to market, but at the same time, can deliver 50kW charging power to support today’s EVs.
