Kia e-Niro wins ‘Best Electric Car’ at Business Car Awards 2019

Kia Motors (UK) has seen further success following the recent win of ‘Best Electric Car’ for the e-Niro at the Business Car Awards 2019, adding to an already expansive list of awards for this year alone. In addition, three other Kia models were shortlist contenders within their respective categories.

The Business Car Awards recognise the manufacturers that demonstrate outstanding customer service as well as innovative products, and are judged by respected industry experts, including well-known road testers.

The e-Niro, coming top within its category, has been designed to merge crossover-inspired design with long-distance, zero-tailpipe emissions driving and enjoyable performance. It achieves this with a next-generation electric powertrain, using new production technologies developed specifically for Kia electric vehicles.

Delivering the verdict from the judges, Stuart Thomas, Director of Fleet and Accident Management at the AA, commented: “The Kia e-Niro combines the range capability of a premium electric car with the accessibility of a high-specification family crossover. The Kia makes the ownership experience of an electric car very easy and sets a new benchmark.”

However, the e-Niro was not the only Kia model recognised within the awards. The Ceed, which recently won ‘Car of the Year’ in the Intelligent Instructor Awards, was a runner-up for ‘Best Lower-Medium Car’. Furthermore, the Stinger was shortlisted for ‘Driver’s Choice’ and the Stonic was also a contender for ‘Best Compact SUV’.

John Hargreaves, General Manager of Fleet and Remarketing at Kia Motors (UK), said: “It’s fantastic to see such a range of Kia models recognised within the awards this year. They all offer unique fleet options for businesses, whether it be an electric option such as the e-Niro or a driver focussed model such as the Stinger. Kia vehicles are continuously praised for their reliability and affordability without having to compromise high-quality design and style, which is why they are a perfect choice for fleet businesses.”
