NewMotion partners with Ford to give drivers access to Europe’s largest EV charging network

NewMotion, a leading European smart charging solutions provider, announces its partnership in e-mobility with Ford of Europe. NewMotion will provide smart charging solutions for all European Ford plug-in hybrids.

A dedicated smart phone app and charge card will be powered by NewMotion, giving Ford’s customers access to NewMotion’s charging network, the largest roaming network in Europe. The partnership will be effective this autumn.

Customers of Ford PHEV vehicles will have easy access to NewMotion’s charging network. The total NewMotion roaming network currently includes over 118,000 charge points in 30 countries in Europe and will help Ford customers locate and pay for charging more easily when on the road.

Two leading brands in the mobility world

“Teaming up with Ford, one of the world’s leading car manufacturers, will give us new opportunities to power up the e-mobility revolution. Ford PHEV drivers will gain access to Europe’s largest roaming network via NewMotion, the app and the charge card”, says Sytse Zuidema, CEO of NewMotion.

“We are excited to work with NewMotion as our partner for public charging because they have the largest roaming network in Europe. Together we will offer seamless access to NewMotion’s charging infrastructure for drivers using the new Ford smartphone app, simplifying the user experience for Ford PHEV customers”, said Mark McMahon, Manager, Business Development & EV Services, Team Edison, Ford of Europe.

NewMotion is a leading company in smart charging solutions for electric vehicles in Europe and has installed more than 45,000 charge points across the region. The company also provides access to a roaming network of more than 100,000 charge points across 28 countries in Europe for more than 170,000 registered drivers’ charge cards. NewMotion is a member of the Shell group.
