Hyundai Kona Electric Named Best EV OF 2019 In The Edmunds Editors’ Choice Awards

Adding to its recent list of prestigious awards including North American Utility Vehicle of the Year, the Hyundai Kona Electric is the 2019 Edmunds Editors’ Choice for Best EV.

With drivers consistently increasing consideration of electric vehicles, the Kona Electric is clearly a standout vehicle in this growing segment.

“We give the Kona Electric high marks for its excellent combination of price and range, but also really love its comfort, responsiveness, and sophisticated ride quality,” said Alistair Weaver, editor-in-chief, Edmunds. It’s the most accomplished, accessible EV we drove this year – even without the tax credits.”est more than 300 vehicles per year and rate each vehicle on more than 30 criteria across several categories including: driving and performance; comfort; interior; utility; technology; fun factor and value.

“The Kona Electric continues to win awards from the media and we couldn’t be more proud to receive this award from Edmunds,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president, Product, Corporate and Digital Planning, Hyundai Motor America. “The Kona Electric provides outstanding value, comfort and style with a great range, all at a very affordable price.”

Kona was developed with a focus on enhanced driving dynamics and responsive performance for a variety of urban and multi-surface driving conditions. Kona Electric’s estimated range is an impressive 258 miles and offers standard fast-charging capability, a feature for which many competitors charge extra. The Kona Electric platform has been developed to give customers CUV-like ground clearance and an elevated, command seating position to provide better visibility and comfort on long journeys, as well as easy ingress and egress.
