The German plug-in electric car market registered a record 4,624 registrations, up 181% year-on-year, with year-to-date registrations growing 115% over the 2016 result in the same period.
The Renault Zoe was the leader in June, with 680 units, a new all-time record for a single model, followed by the Audi A3 e-Tron in second place, with 535 deliveries, a new record for the German model, while the BMW 225xe Active Tourer ended the month in third, with 338 units, also a personal best.
The year-to-date podium has the Renault Zoe in the leadership, with 2,429 units, followed closely by the Audi A3 e-Tron, with 2,205 sales, while the new third placed BMW 225xe Active Tourer (1,626 units) displaced the previous bronze medalist, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (1,406 deliveries), from the podium.
In the manufacturers ranking, BMW (21%, down 2%) is on the lead, followed by Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Volkswagen, all with 12% share.
Looking at other Alternative Fuels, CNG M1 sales are down regarding the same period last year, having registered only 1,025 units, while LPG M1 vehicles are seeing their sales rise significantly (+54%), to 2,154 units.
